“A BIG KISS – to YOU!”

“Look what we found!”  “This is the biggest “KISS” that we have ever seen – and we found it – and we hope it is filled with “HERSHEY Chocolate Candy?”

“Alyssa – as soon as we see Daddy – I’m going to ask him if he can put this “BIG KISS” in his truck – so we will have candy for everybody – when we get back to Saint Louis, Missouri, OKAY???”

“Aldrich Home”

img183

The above  picture of my three Grandchildren – Alyssa, Jaime and Alan giving Cheer and Love to everyone  – looking at this picture  – and then just above my Grand-Children’s photo is our “ALDRICH HOME” Blessing  – that I had received sometime ago.

I do not remember who sent me the  “Aldrich Home” magnet  – which was just  so beautiful and with such a very nice “Blessing” – I just had to find a place where this would be seen daily and often – and hopefully everyone  – that sees this Blessing,  would want to copy it for their “HOME!”

Since this was a Blessing for the HOME –  I had to ask myself, “What would look like “HOME”  – that I could put with this wonderful little “Blessing” message and catch everyone’s eye  –  to want to read the “Blessing” and even ask about it’s placement on the very front of the refrigerator?” So, I went through lots of my photos  – hopping  that something would stand out – and compliment the “Blessing”  message magnet – and was I ever “LUCKY” to find the above photo of the “Grand-children”  just wishing that everyone that is looking at this photo – to enjoy with them all the “Love” and extra special “Blessings” that we daily receive  from the Almighty!

So, I am in hopes that you all feel that this is a good “Blessing”  and that more people will copy it  – using their own  “FAMILY” name and put it in a prime location – for the whole world to see. This is only a small way for me to let everyone know that – we all are so exceedingly  “B lest with Blessings” – that protect us in our daily living – and that the more we pray – the more “Blessings” are sent to each and every “FAMILY” – that will just take a few minutes to “ASK” – because by asking – that is the only way to  “Receive????”

“Are you wearing the “GREEN” Today?”

Today is the day that everybody wears something “GREEN” just to show that someone, somewhere in and of their ancestors, in the last hundreds of years – came from IRELAND! This is not necessarily true – but TODAY – everybody loves to join in all the FUN and GAMES – and then there are those who like to partake in the “drinking” that so many people think – that by doing  so – that they are having FUN?

Most cities have their streets painted “GREEN” – and so if you are in the mood to watch the “PARADE” – you certainly will be able to find the “GREEN” road and – while you are in such a good frame of mind – may as well – follow them in the PARADE – since you will be dressed just as if you were suppose to be in the PARADE – but you are late and so –  you are now following  at the end of the line of “merry-makers” all dressed up in your finest of green attire and ready to party!!!

It has been a long time since the saying on this date  – that there are only two kinds of people; “The Irish and those who would like to be Irish??!?” It must be  – because there is something contagious going on when all the people in the whole world turn everything “GREEN”  – and make all kinds of new stuff to wear  – indicating that they are IRISH! With everyone in the FAMILY wearing “GREEN” and getting ready for a “BIG PARTY” time – I have never seen little children cry and act as if they are scared  – for St. Pat’s Day – like when other holidays  roll around and we take the small children to see and be seen – to take part in something that we feel will be FUN – but the child starts to scream! Children get so scared at other holiday activities – but Saint Patrick’s Day – the children love to be a part of the FUN and enjoy every minute!

Could all of this FUN come about because of the color “GREEN?” We do see “GREEN” money and everyone just loves to get their hands on the “GREEN MONEY” but what would happen if our money was “RED?” We could try any other color for money and see what effect that would have on the behavior of people  – especially children – some thing  – maybe  for some country to try out and see what happens? Since we know that when we have no money  – we are in the hole – I’m guessing – that if we used “RED MONEY” – every time we  would try to buy something with the RED MONEY – we would  “STOP” – as we would think we are putting ourselves further into  debt???

Let ‘s all wear something “GREEN” today – join in the nearest festivities for this evening – and whenever we can –  think of yelling something in the crowd  – – “Erin Go Bragh” – “IRELAND FOREVER!” All those who are nearby – just might think that you are really IRISH – but if they question you – just say, –  “If you say “ERIN GO BRAGH” three times before midnight – You just might be the “LUCKY” person to find the “POT OF GOLD” – as the ole “Leprechaun”  is always leaving a  little “POT OF GOLD” around for just the right person to find!”

So, NOW  – that  you know what to do –  today – get all of your friends to go on a “HUNT”  and do not forget the magic words to say – keeping your eyes  wide open  – because of all nights of the year  – this is the night  for “YOU” to find your own “POT OF GOLD!”             “ERIN GO BRAGH!”        DV

Today starts “summer,”  to me!

Today was a very good day to be outside! If this kind of weather will – now only continue for the rest of the year – it will be as if we all died and went to Heaven! It is just beautiful out – these are the kind of days we all LOVE so much – since there are so many things that need our attention – since the “Winter” was pretty hard on some of the areas in the northern areas – so if we can have this wonderful weather to continue – all kinds of outside projects can be done  – NOW – before it becomes too HOT!

I’ll bet you have not been outside of your house, today– and  so you just have not had any FUN outside? The first thing that I did this morning was  to open the doors and just let the  wonderful day’s music start coming on in. The birds all have such beautiful songs that they like to sing – and they especially like to come and sit on the porch rail and just do –  that which  comes naturally – and that is to sing to me. They know that if they will get my attention early – then they will be the first to – for sure get the first of the bird seed – that I will put out,  just for them!

There are “Blue-Jays” in two different trees on our property and a large colony of  “Cardinals” who have a crew of “scouter” birds that come and “chirp” and “tweet” in  their sweet  and pleasant tones – “Where’s the Beef?” It is really “FUN” and quite “comical” to watch what action some of these birds – start performing in the early hours of the day – just to get me  to hurry up and get the “feed” bag on the road!

Some of the antics that different birds have – is just for me to know “who is who”  – and they are letting  me know –   that they just don’t have all day to play around,  here –  that, they want something to start their  day off – and then they have other –  maybe even more important places to stop and pick up something special to take “HOME” to their babies! It seems to me that each bird has special assignments and routes to take and special messages to leave at all of their daily- drop-off -places. They are busier than a cat covering it up! The “Blue-Jays” seem to be the “POLICE”  agents  – and – they take care of all of the “warnings” of a “CAT” in the range of their territory – and their special “call” is very distinct – to all  the young birds – those not knowing that “DANGER” is slowly  approaching – watch out – the “CAT” is looking for “FOOD” – too – and that “CAT” does  – Love  – fresh and warm  and young bird  meat – the easy to catch ones are their first pick.

“It’s a jungle out there”  – it is right up and against the “Sunset Park” – so  there  are all kinds of beautiful birds that like to stop by – especially when they see “DIN DIN” free and available for all those who have the time to “fly by and take- off ”  with something for the family  – back at the nest. There were some larger birds that came by when I put out some “Chips” on the picnic table in a bright colored tray – these birds – were large enough to carry off large pieces of chips and come back for more – guess they knew these chips had “CORN” in them – as I thought that the “DEER” would get the smell and stop by – as the “DEER” like the corn so much – and  they just don’t get  “CORN” as often as they would like, Too???

Grandma at Grand-daughter’s “Shower!”

One of the best times in a “Grandma’s” life is to finally get to attend all the events preceding  the  Grand Child’s marriage! To have children and be able to enjoy in all the “Happiness” that they will have when it comes to getting married – all the different pre events – that call for parents to get to meet and visit with the new in-laws to be –  – having a time to see what attraction their children have for all of the new parents and all of the family relatives  and friends – is an event to remember.

Yesterday was “PI DAY – 3.14.15” – a day that happens once in a Century – and in our FAMILY an extra special day for our Family – as  well – for – we at the “Bridal Shower” for our Grand-daughter Jaime – and it was a terrific time for all those invited and  attended.

One just has to marvel at all of the work that it must take to make all the arrangements  – like the hall and food  with even a special arrangement for the “CAKE” and desserts for all the attendees – and then the setting up the tables and decorations  – everything done to perfection. Something that everyone commented on and thoroughly enjoyed – the continuous show of the newly to-be -weds  photos, including photos of them and family when they were little children with their various family members and friends.  All of this on a large screen for all to see from any  standing or sitting spot in the room – and the enjoyment of good music. This certainly took someone lots of hard work to make all of this work. But,  all of this   sure helped everyone to enjoy meeting with the people they were seeing on the  large screen.

There were games to play and prizes to be won – and all the prizes were just the best – if you were “LUCKY?” Also, something I thought was a  terrific idea, and it was a chance to win “money” – all you had to do  – was write your name on  slip of paper and for a one dollar bill – you could be the winner of the whole “basket of money!”    Everyone has the feeling like they are  a  “WINNER” when they take a chance and of course we all are “WINNERS” –  when we are here and now in the present time of our LIFE  – we are doing what we like best – and that is being with FAMILY and FRIENDS and  we’re having FUN!

Of course, the best part of the “Bridal Shower” is the “Bride- to- be” opening up the beautiful gifts – that she has been given – and just to hear all the “OHS and Ahs and Wow’s “– almost giving you the thought that you are now  ready to get married yourself – just for all of this extra special attention – and all the ways to do and have this pre wedding excitement! And, also what I noticed was all the extra attention that  Miss Jaime was receiving from all of her “BRIDE-MAIDS” – they were  all helping to make sure everything was done just so perfect and to the  full satisfaction of everyone that was in attendance –  everything done so well – it was as if this was a production of a professional business person – one that just seems to know and at all times – who, what  and when – needs to be here and there for a completely perfect  start for the rest of the Bride’s- to- be Life!

“Congratulations to the Bride-to-Be – Miss Jaime Aldrich!”

How’s your PI Day – 3.1415???

Today is a newer “DAY” declared to celebrate with PI – 3.1415 – or  – are you suppose to celebrate by making “PIES” and  then – – seeing how many you can eat,   today??? I may try making an “Apple” pie!

When you are in school – you may have taken good ole “Geometry” and you could have enjoyed every minute or you could have been one of those  who just do not have a head for figures and fig-erring in the higher playing field of knowledge and just came away with only knowing “PI = 3.14” and just remembering that you felt good about yourself!

Somewhere in all of this you know that Pi is the ratio of a circle’s   circumference to it’s diameter – so  with that piece of knowledge – how are you using it? With today’s handheld gadgets  and the convenience of all the electronics  – – who in the world uses their brain??

Today the numbers match the first five digits of PI   – 3.1415 – so this is for-sure  a once in a century celebration time  – for us  here  now to do some celebrating – only because we will not all be here again for the next  century’s matching a couple more of the numbers –  – but if you feel that you will be here – – –  let me hear from you??? “GOOD LUCK!”

We know that everyone knows  the symbol “PI”  – and when we see 3.14  – – we know to associate the two together – but now we will be adding the next two numbers  so that  the  five numbers are 3.1415 – and if we do our homework  we will start to remember the next couple of numbers and then there are those brainy people who can remember the whole long stream of numbers  – – – so to those of  you  – be  happy  to receive a “GOLD STAR” on your report card. I only a  few “GOLD STARS” to give out this year!

To those of you who know “Greek”  – I take my “HAT” off to you!!
