“Denny Jr., Daddy and Mommy”

“Happy Birthday DENNY Jr., – – “

This PHOTO of DENNY Jr., is in the back yard of Irene Brady Riley, who is sister to “MOMMY” and our Aunt – – who lived on Ashland Avenue,  North Saint Louis, Missouri…just on the other side of “Fairgrounds Park” from where we lived. In those days if you did not have an automobile…you could easily walk…and it did mot take you forever to get….where ever you wanted to be.

In all of the PHOTOS…that I have…the above PHOTO is the only PHOTO where one of us children is taken with …MOMMY and DADDY. I am a year older than DENNY… and have PHOTOS with of myself with either my DAD or Aunt Irene in her back yard …but none of two adults or MOMMY and DADDY together with me?

Denny was very LUCKY…He was the first boy…and  a “JUNIOR” and called “JUNIOR” by the Grand-parents and most of the relatives. What I always LOVED…was the beautiful RED HAIR…and FRECKLES…everybody thought he always looked good as he always… took care to put his best foot forward . Denny was always there with a HELPING HAND…he was not afraid to get his hands dirty – he could take a vehicle apart  and put it together… NOW …working better than ever.

We all miss little DENNY Jr. – – but we know he is enjoying HEAVEN…and we will all meet again…in eternity!

“Happy Birthday…DENNY Jr.”

img084

Here we are in Circleville, OHIO… maybe 1940…and this is GRANDMA   McClarren’s.. Farm.

From the left…Mary Ellen…DENNY,Jr…TOMMY…and DENNY, Sr. – – back then…most men wore white shoes and those flat-top white straw hats in the Summer  months. As… YOU CAN SEE…MY  FATHER… ALWAYS HAD HIS WHITE SHOES AND WHITE HATS… he was always good looking…at any age… For a “seventy” something PHOTO…looks like we can still have good “MEMORIES” of our trips to OHIO!

One memory that …I remember …is on the long trips to OHIO…as long as the vehicle was moving…it had to be moving…I would sleep and sleep and never a word from me – – but let the vehicle stop…the motor turned off at the gas stations…you could hear me …louder than the whole gang… of us. “WHY” – – “NO ONE could figure it out?” “The vehicle had to be moving.”

NOW…that I am thinking about it…whenever I would be driving …especially the long trips that my husband and the family would take… to FLORIDA or some FAMILY get-to-gather trip…I would drive and drive…and I would not stop…for anything – we were going to get where ever…and… unless I needed to visit the rest room or the vehicle needed gas…we made no STOPS!

Well…today is little DENNY’s BIRTHDAY…and I know that he is having more FUN…since he is NOW…in a far greater place to be…than all of us…put to gather…HAPPY BIRTHDAY…DENNY!

“My FAVORITE BROTHERS”

img083

January and February…are the two months that my  FAVORITE BROTHERS…DENNY and TOMMY have their BIRTHDAYS…and there are only twenty-one days between their BIRTHDAYS.  So…that also gives them… the very same ZODIAC SIGN.

Half way between their  BIRTHDAYS…on “GROUND’s HOG DAY” is our FATHER’s BIRTHDAY… and…just in case that is not  enough BIRTHDAY CELEBRATING… we were LUCKY to have identical twin SISTERS…KATHLEEN and EVE KAREN  – – who have their BIRTHDAY only three days after  little TOMMY’S BIRTHDAY!

As I am looking at this PHOTO… just trying to  figure out if it is a warm day or a cold day???  DENNY has his hat and coat on…and little TOMMY…a year younger …and the one who always had bronchial  breathing problems …and if any one should have the hat and coat on – – you would think that TOMMY would for sure be dressed warmer??? Just goes to show…that if you tell the children to get their hats and coats on…before going outside…some will do  what  they are told…and others … well….just disregard what they are told.  That is a subject that needs to be studied.

“HAPPY BIRTHDAY…DENNY AND TOMMY!”

“Grand Children visit DENNY Jr.”

My brother, DENNY, Jr. receiving visitors.

This PHOTO of DENNY and FAMILY…Freedom Village, Florida.

 Denny and G. Kids
Taken on August 7, two days before he died, with granddaughters Kris   and Ashley, and great grandson Ayden.
DENNY does look better on this photo… than the previous photo…stronger…somewhat frail… his  bones probably weaker   requiring the wheel-chair….and no one able to have any idea…that his journey here is almost over…and a much better place in Heaven waiting for him.
When I first took a look at the above PHOTO…the words to an old song came to mind…”Give me five minutes more, only five minutes more….Let me stay…Let me stay in your arms…”
That song was sung by FRANK SINATRA – – 1946 – – and the movie that this song was sung in  was…”Sweethearts of Sigma Chi” – – I do not remember the movie …but the words of that song…Give me five minutes more” being repeated so often…just got stuck in my brain – – I’m guessing that I may have always needed only “FIVE MINUTES MORE” – – for a kid…then during the WAR years – – seems that others also wanted “FIVE MINUTES MORE”  too.
It is hard to just forget your LOVED ONES and FAMILY…but one thing that I do know is…we will be so HAPPY…on that day that we leave …EARTH…and enter into ETERNITY…forever – – to always be with  those that we LOVE!
“HAPPY BIRTHDAY…DENNY!”

“Remembering DENNY Jr. – my brother”

DENNY with a terrific  smile….A small dog in the arms of DENNY…showing

so much LOVE… Just to see  this little baby dog…with such a warm kiss..

will heal the future owner and help guide the new owner…forever.

Taken with one of our dog’s puppies. Heather was a breeder for the Southeastern Guide Dogs.  She had three litters of puppies, totaling 26 future guide dogs
Denny_IMG_3539
The above PHOTO  of my brother DENNY Jr., and message regarding the breading of the  Guide Dogs… was sent to me by his wife JUDY…and this service that they were doing…is another example of the wonderful things that they both did all through their married LIFE.
The PHOTO is one that I feel…shows  the LOVE …that we all have…
but some of us just do not share it….because they do not understand that by giving the LOVE of LIFE to others…we, ourselves will receive so much more… to give.
To be able to help people …who need Guide Dogs… and to help to provide LOVABLE Guide Dogs to the many who are waiting for just such a  LOVING Guide Dog…is one of the most important things that we can ever think to do for our neighbor in need. The recipient is continually blessing the giver…each and every day…as these lovable dogs are extra special gifts…that only the Almighty could create…with LOVE…that will last…forever.
“HAPPY BIRTHDAY…DENNY – – We know you are NOW in HEAVEN!”

Just so everybody remembers…DENNY Jr., has a BIRTHDAY… coming up on the 24th of January
