“JUST the FACTS – 10 RANDOM FACTS”
When I… was reading these “FACTS” – – the one that really caught my eye… was the one about the “PENNY and the NICKEL” – – and that it costs more to make these coins – – our “SMALL CHANGE” – – than the coins are worth!
So…. when you read this short article about the “PENNY and the NICKEL” – – – maybe … someone should suggest to the “MINT MAKERS of AMERICA” to make some changes – — the “PENNY” could be called the “NINE CENTER” – – so when something sells for $0.59 – – you could pay with a half dollar and a “NINE CENTER” – – or even two quarters and a “NINE CENTER” – – or five dimes and a “NINE CENTER” – – as so much that is for “SALE” … always has a NINE cents tacked on.
The good old “NICKEL” could be called the new “TWENTY CENT” piece. Save a lot of room in the pocket book – – only “5” NICKELS will equal “ONE DOLLAR” – – instead of 20 NICKELS – – HOW’s that for a change in our money – – or what we call “SMALL CHANGE” – – this is only because there is NOW more value in these coins – – than they are worth!

NATIONAL CHOCOLATE MILK DAY
Across the country, folks enjoy a tall, frosty glass on National Chocolate Milk Day which is observed annually on September 27.
Invented by Hans Sloane in the late 1680s, today chocolate milk can be purchased premixed or it can be made at home with either cocoa powder and a sweetener or with melted chocolate, chocolate syrup or chocolate milk mix.
While Sloane was in Jamaica, he encountered a beverage the locals drank made with cocoa mixed with water. After trying it, he reported the flavor to be nauseating. After some experimentation, Sloane found a way to mix the cocoa with milk to make it more pleasant tasting. He brought the chocolate recipe back with him upon his return to England. Now people enjoy this delicious drink every day.

“A TRUE MEMORY Photo of MOM!”
Every one has a PHOTO of someone – – or maybe even of their own self – – at a special time – – or event – – that the LOOK – the DRESS – – or maybe even the occasion – is just exactly the only way – – our brain… remembers – – when we say that “PERSON’s NAME!”
****** Click on PHOTO to enlarge – for clarification ******
Left to Right…DENNY Jr. – his wife JUDY McClarren – Aunt IRENE RILEY – her younger sister MARIE McClarren – and her son, TOM McClarren – – and this is at a wedding reception for TOM – – and I am guessing his wife and new Bride, ROSE is taking this PHOTO.
At the time of this “wedding” – – I was living in Florida – – so… I was lucky to receive some PHOTOS – – and this one is a favorite of mine – – in that the suit that my MOTHER is wearing … is one that I always thought she looked so cute and since she was so small – – It is really remarkable – – that she had such tall children.
Tom was the tallest of us, children – – as he was “six foot” when he was in eight grade – – and later grew another couple of inches – – DENNY… was close to “six foot” – and – – I was “five foot six and a half inches” – – and to be tall – – sure does help – – at least I always thought so – – could always get that which I would be reaching for.
When ever… I am just thinking about my MOTHER… and even when I might be talking to someone about her… I am mentally seeing “MOM” dressed – – just as you see her in this PHOTO – – – this suit was made just right for MOM!

“On the 25th of the month – a BIRTHDAY for WHO?”
“TODAY is the 25th of SEPTEMBER” – – Do you know who would be having a BIRTHDAY… TODAY?” and…………………………………………….…………………….. the answer is NOT… SANTA!
“TODAY” This is the BIRTHDAY of “MARIE BRADY”
One of the best things in LIFE – – is to have PHOTOS of the FAMILY – – especially of your own GRAND-MOTHER – – “ANNE E. SMART BRADY ” and then – – to top the “CAKE” for TODAY – – a very good and old PHOTO – – of her 13th child, little baby, “MARIE” – – and to think – – that this Photo… is over… One Hundred years old!
In LIFE… who knows what and when and where one will be – – even for sure… TOMORROW – – much less… how to save and preserve a PHOTO – – through the “WWI” and “WWII” – – and every FAMILY moves several times – – family marries … and the family will multiply and scatter – – and for one little piece of paper – – a PHOTO of your MOTHER – – has found it’s way to survive all these many years – – in the good enough condition to be viewed by generations to come.
“All Praise, Honor, and Glory be… to our Almighty Creator – – for putting me in the best FAMILY – – and Thanks… for all of my wonderful relatives – – to share this wonderful LIFE with – – just – – to be able to remember my MOTHER… Today and on her BIRTHDAY!”
