November “Birthdays”

Just dawn on me ,  to wish a  Very Happy Birthday, to those who have a  Birthday this month, November! When you get to be my age,  you are allowed to forget  half of what I thought I knew  –   and what remains – I can not be too sure of any more? What I have said  – is I’m sure your Birthdays are in  November, but the dates  –  I can no longer remember  what date goes with the four (4) Birthday Girls?

Sister Margaret Mary,  you were my 7th and 8th grade teacher,  we kept in touch over the years, you visited my home, and played the Lowery Console  Organ with Irish music, thought I was in Heaven!

Judy McClarren, my brother  Denny’s wife and right now taking good care of  Denny, which requires a whole lot  of time! I am so glad you are able to keep me  in the loop , with photos and  his care updates!

Rose McClarren,  wife of  my brother Tom, aka  Mr. Wonderful, and always happy to see you both on  “TV” and in the “Newspaper”!  You are both doing a fine job with the flowers in your community!

Char Bay, an extra special Grandma! Our united families  have brought forth the  best of  Best Grand-daughters – Alyssa and Jaime!

Almighty God,   has  truly blessed me   with these   wonderful    November   – Birthday     –  People!    I am asking    Our Creator, and  Giver   of all     –  that is good and perfect  to Bless each and everyone – abundantly from His generous bounty. “Thanks be to  Yahweh!”

Abandoned Uninvited Visitor

Sitting at the Kitchen table  –  reading  –  glanced to the right  –  saw this  short haired cat  –  doing a perimeter check  –  on my porch?     So, I had to say, “Meow – Meow”  and  immediately she came to the window  –  stretched as far up  to the where I was sitting and  “Meow – Meow”   back while looking at me.

With eye contact and our “Meowing” back and forth opened a box of cat food and set it outside the door, (we have all kinds of animals come from the park area)  she looked it over – took a smell  –  but seem to be afraid  –  backed up and  slowly went toward the steps and down and  to the walk area. She was no longer  answering my  “Meows” –  as she was not ready to make a friend with a “stranger.” She headed toward the far end of the yard and out of sight!

There is a road   right behind us that takes you  to the Park,  and I’ll bet   her family dropped  her off  –  due to the  bad times  of our country  –  there have been several animals running loose.  No amount of kindness or being nice or inviting   –  makes no difference    – an abandoned cat  is in an   “eerie situation ”  – when it comes to  approaching  strange humans,  because she feels    she will once again be thrown  out a car door.     “Speaking  for  the  cat”   –    she   feels   humans  are not  to be trusted  –   she   gave  all her   “Love”   – and   will not   find   that    “Love”       again in the  arms   of a truly –  loyal loving  friend!

Election Day

My son called me around 5:00AM  –  said, “Anytime your ready  to ‘go VOTE’  –  we can go ?” Since I was not quite ready – said,  “Pick me up  in a half hour?”  Al,  was right on time and it felt good to start the  ‘day in the dark’ and see what is happening on the streets in the neighborhood,   at an early hour?

They had just processed “100 voters” and it looked like a good steady stream of people arriving. The man in line behind me , motioned to my son to go ahead of him, so he could be with me, together. He said he had already been to work  –  opened up the store  –  got  everyone assigned to the duties for  the day  –  and it didn’t matter to him if  Al,  went ahead of him in line?  –  Since he was self-employed! I’m the inquiring type   –  had to ask   –  what type of business he owned?  “A Bakery Store!”  “That would  be one of my favorites!”  I just love  – cinnamon buns  and coconut custard cream pie. I don’t visit bakery shops, like I used to do  –  have to watch my girlish figure  –  seems like   –  it just   –  got up and went!

When ,    there seems to be a long     wait  –  waiting in long  lines    –   it is good to say a few  kind words  –  time just seems to   fly by    –   everyone starts their day with a  nice   smiling  face!

Seek – Listen – Be Informed!

When someone finds something  – exciting –  and this something is so  –  good- would not the  –  best thing be    –  to   share  where it   will do the most good?

All my  radios  are turned on to  –  91.5 FM  –   Bott Radio  Network  –  and this coming week,  91.5FM   will be celebrating their  “50” years of service!

If you are like me , you get a real headache, as you listen to some of the  “junk”  advertised  as entertainment, on most stations. So,  I had to  move the radio dial up and down the  “air-waves”   and after awhile  –  found station 91.5 FM. Hour after hour  programs of interest to me,  subject matter of education and learning, the wide  variety  of world-wide events and current matters, financial programs with real helpful information  – answering the people calling in  with help for all listeners,    I even called in,    on a couple of programs  and I have found the help and information  to be  positive and  enlightening!

Today  – it is important  for each of us to receive the   –Best and highest Quality  coverage of radio information concerning  all the problems we are facing. We, Americans, need to hear from people on the radio, who have  principles and high standards, that our  – Creator  – wanted each  one of us  –  to be endowed   with  now  and forever!

Mickey McLaren – Down Memory Lane

When you think back to when you were a kid in  Grade School,  –  Do you think of the  Names  –  old  Friends – what do you remember and why? What in the world could they be doing,  Today? It must be the change of weather and the  Stores with all the  Holiday Decorations and  ideas –  get you to thinking of all the get-to-gathers  – and who will I see  – from long ago?

Dorothy Jorgensen  and I ran into each other near the O’Fallon Park, in north Saint Louis, Missouri in the early 50’s, and had a real good time . We should do it again?   Linda Crow and I would listen to  the radio   –   We would push our beds closer together  to hear  the radio    –   as late as we could or until we fell asleep.  We did not want everybody in the Dormitory to know we had the radio on – when it was “light’s out time!”   It was a good thing,  that the  “Nuns” rosary beads and keys would hit their knee as they would be walking down the corridor halls  — it gave us  a     “head’s up  –  trouble on the way”   –  kept us out of harm’s way!

Lucille Yoergler, one of the best looking gals, and with such beautiful natural curly hair. When you would be doing  your  music lessons you were always eager to try playing a new piece of music that I had just received from my Mother!  Today , my  sons and grandchildren all  have musical talent,  and when  playing music  –  old memories keep a coming my way!
