“Wow! I’m still celebrating!”

Denny_IMG_3539

“Wow –  turning  “76” feels so good !” “Nothing makes you feel so good – as when your best friend just loves you  and loves you!” Hardly a day older and when your best friend loves you with all the kisses – kisses that tickle you  – –   and continue  to  give you the tickles all over  – – – “I almost feel like I  am  – eighteen, again!”

When they said that  “senior citizens” should have a  “best friend” like the one you see in the above picture – that person knew what they were talking about.  A cute and lovable dog  or even a cat if you prefer – and for some  –   just having one of each – just keeps you in the mode of being young, again.

Having “Man’s best friend”  with you – no matter what your health – no matter what type of person you are  – – – your  “best friend” loves you just as you are   – – no matter what!     Just having your  “best friend” with you   – to talk to   – to take walks with   – just to be at your side when you really need a friend – –  is the “BEST MEDICINE”  – we Senior  Citizens’   could ask for!

“What comes after “75” ??”

DEN & ME 001

          answered.  “76??” – –  –       “That’s the “SPIRIT!”

Denny is  ” 76″  today! –  – I’m guessing everybody would like to be  “76” someday and also have the  “Million Dollar Smile”   – – like Denny has in the above picture!!!

Today is a “Family Day” – so for all  the  – “Families in “America” – let us all at six o’clock  – this evening  – join hand in hand and sing “Happy Birthday Denny”   and wish him the  very  best of blessings – that only the Almighty in Heaven can give to Denny.

“One more day to wait!”

img163

“Only one (1) more day to wait – for everybody to sing “HAPPY BIRTHDAY” to Denny!”  This is our backyard – right at the area where we did most of our playing –  Denny is in his favorite chair  – as there are several pictures with Denny sitting in this chair.  Denny could be maybe two and a half – – –  it is hard to tell if he is near his third birthday – the picture just is not as clear – as I would like – but – then  – who am I to say too  much – as I was only one year older than Denny.

Right behind Denny is our “sand-box”  and we had all kinds of buckets and shovels to move piles of sand from this corner to that corner. There was a little boy that lived across the street  – who would come over to play  with us. The only thing that I remember about this boy is that he hit me in the front of the head with his shovel – and I still have a scare  – as a reminder.

Also, you can see part  of  our “swing-set” that – is where  we so often had our pictures taken – guess that is because we had our Easter Baskets – and that was a nice place  – for us to swing “easy” and eat our Easter candy. That was  just the right size  “swing-set” for little “KIDS” like us – easy to get in and sit down – not too high up and off the ground – just in case we were the type to fall off  and hit the ground – – – and it did not swing too fast for us, just in case we  could  not take the motion of  moving and eating   – all at the same time.

“Looks like Denny is ready for his “Birthday”  to begin!   “Happy Birthday Denny!”     “and many more – and more…”

Psalm 139

Click on to make more readable…

img162

This page is from a very old Bible  – Psalm 139  is really suited for this week of January, 2015 – – – since this week is to celebrate LIFE and FAMILY –  –  it seems that people living today  – just have no idea  – that each and every human LIFE  was preordained  – – and that there are no accidents of   a LIFE  – – – each and every child should be allowed to be born. There is a reason for all of us  – and the sooner we  start to figure out what  we  are here for  – and learn to be content with  where you are  – – then we can all live in harmony!

Some time ago I had heard on a radio program that  –  ” I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” So I had to find where that came from and found that in verse 14 of  Psalm  139.   Once  – that I had found this Psalm – and read it – – there is just so much information here –  – that answers so many questions –  that all of us have. My hope is that anyone who has questions about their birth – read this Psalm – and see if you can find the answers to lots of questions  that  – your friends are asking – and  then you will be helping them – by telling where the answers are!  – – “Pass this good information on  – everyone will LOVE you – –  for,  your sincere LOVE of them!”

“Happy Birthday Denny Jr.”

img161

January 24th  is coming up and little Denny Jr., will soon be 76. Sure wish that there was a way to fix old pictures – this one is  at least  76 years old and I am older and I just do not  know  – how to fix -up  all the old stuff  – so that it would look glamorous? There are ways to do all this fixing up of  our old bodies and even our old stuff – but I have not found the way to do it and then – the eyes do not want to help out with staying focused on old stuff fix-up  information – when there are so many more important things to do!

I was looking for one of the pictures –  that are somewhere of Denny Jr., in the baby bed –  – just for and older  picture and  a  very young – almost new born baby? The idea was old and new all in the same photo.

This photo was taken in the backyard of our Aunt Irene Riley  – on Ashland  Avenue at this time  The idea of taking photos with a “BOX CAMERA” – way back then  – the game of taking photos was so new to most people  – and I’ll bet not many people took the time to read the instructions of how to focus – and how to place people so that the “BRIGHT SUN” was not making more light than you needed – and it sure would help if you were not aiming the camera into the strong light and the people in the picture  – well what can you say – second guessing  – you will end  up p paying for lots of pictures  that just will not turn out  – not as you were expecting – and then  – the developing of the film – just not a good match???

(Click on the photo – the larger size – helps to see little Denny’s face better! Denny has the best shade of red hair – it’s terrific!)

Listen and Learn…

Sometimes in LIFE – we just do not play any attention to the most precious gift we have – our children. With everything that we buy, today – you receive instructions – either a book or manual and sometimes for the simplest of simple things you might buy – there is at least a sheet of paper – telling you how, what, when and why  you could kill or injure yourself – if you do not follow these instructions to the letter  of safety – as provided??

A child comes with a very miraculous and completely workable – highly tuned system – and all ready to go. There are so many things that this new born child needs and wants – and there we are standing – in the class of “DUMMIES 101” = we are clueless.

We all know that those very first years are the formative – the ones that we are putting all kinds of information into and on the brain – the computer – in the language of today. What the child receives early will stick like glue – forever. That is why it is so important for us – “new parents” to be ever mindful of what we are doing – in the presence of the child. We seem to be so wrapped up in our own work and never take notice of our surroundings – and we lose something that we cannot get back.

This is what I had heard. This young man was at home sitting in his favorite chair at his desk and just working away – he did not know that anyone was in the room with him – and maybe so engrossed in his paper work –he just plain did not want to be bothered. The Father continued to work and as he was working – his little daughter – maybe three or four years of age walk near the desk – hoping to be noticed without disturbing her Father – moved to another side of the desk with her Father not paying any attention at all that  – just maybe his little girl wanted some attention and not knowing how to get “DADDY’s” attention without upsetting him – she moved further and away from him.

So, finally the little girl asks. “Daddy what are you doing?” the Father gives a very gruff sounding reply. “I’m very busy, right now!”  – The little girl just stands there – not knowing what to do or what to say – and moves a little further from her Fatter. And now the little girl looking at her Father at him at his big desk and  him continuing to work without  looking up to see her – she just does not know what more to say. But, now the little girl leaves the room where her Father is still face down on his work – and she said. “Daddy is you too busy – too LOVE me?”

When a child is so small – they do not understand – that – we the parents can not at all times show LOVE in some way to them. Surely – we are aware of the child entering the room – and more than likely they will need or what something – so is it too much  to ask that a little extra Love shown at these early years – be given as freely as needed! It it  is good for you and for me – stop and show our children LOVE as often as possible – there could come a day when that unloved child will find LOVE where they will not really be finding “TRUE LOVE!”  Only a good Father gives his children the best “LOVE!”
