“Grand Children visit DENNY Jr.”

My brother, DENNY, Jr. receiving visitors.

This PHOTO of DENNY and FAMILY…Freedom Village, Florida.

 Denny and G. Kids
Taken on August 7, two days before he died, with granddaughters Kris   and Ashley, and great grandson Ayden.
DENNY does look better on this photo… than the previous photo…stronger…somewhat frail… his  bones probably weaker   requiring the wheel-chair….and no one able to have any idea…that his journey here is almost over…and a much better place in Heaven waiting for him.
When I first took a look at the above PHOTO…the words to an old song came to mind…”Give me five minutes more, only five minutes more….Let me stay…Let me stay in your arms…”
That song was sung by FRANK SINATRA – – 1946 – – and the movie that this song was sung in  was…”Sweethearts of Sigma Chi” – – I do not remember the movie …but the words of that song…Give me five minutes more” being repeated so often…just got stuck in my brain – – I’m guessing that I may have always needed only “FIVE MINUTES MORE” – – for a kid…then during the WAR years – – seems that others also wanted “FIVE MINUTES MORE”  too.
It is hard to just forget your LOVED ONES and FAMILY…but one thing that I do know is…we will be so HAPPY…on that day that we leave …EARTH…and enter into ETERNITY…forever – – to always be with  those that we LOVE!
“HAPPY BIRTHDAY…DENNY!”

“DENNY Jr. in OHIO”

img029

This photo is taken of DENNY McClarren JR – – in Circleville, OHIO – on May 28th, 1942!

Grandma Leah McClarren …had this flower garden – – and just to show off all of her flowers and how well they were doing – – looks like the flowers were as tall as DENNY JR – – and some of the flowers were even taller.

One thing about CIRCLEVILLE is  –  that it is the City and County Seat of Pickaway County – – – and also well known for the “PUMPKIN FESTIVAL” – – and that was  proved to me …when we would go to OHIO every year – –  as GRANDMA Leah McClarren was the best of the “PUMPKIN PIE BAKERS”   – – – on one of our visits –  – – she gave us –  one of her pies to take home with us – – and that pie plate she baked that  “PIE”  in  – was my MOTHER’s – – and when she passed on… well… now it belongs to me – and we always bake the “PUMPKIN PIE”  in it – – and always receive rave reviews!

Share your thoughts about  “OHIO” – – and  – – whatever you like about making “PUMPKIN PIES” – – as the world always like new and interesting baking ideas???

“Happy Birthday Denny Jr.”

img161

January 24th  is coming up and little Denny Jr., will soon be 76. Sure wish that there was a way to fix old pictures – this one is  at least  76 years old and I am older and I just do not  know  – how to fix -up  all the old stuff  – so that it would look glamorous? There are ways to do all this fixing up of  our old bodies and even our old stuff – but I have not found the way to do it and then – the eyes do not want to help out with staying focused on old stuff fix-up  information – when there are so many more important things to do!

I was looking for one of the pictures –  that are somewhere of Denny Jr., in the baby bed –  – just for and older  picture and  a  very young – almost new born baby? The idea was old and new all in the same photo.

This photo was taken in the backyard of our Aunt Irene Riley  – on Ashland  Avenue at this time  The idea of taking photos with a “BOX CAMERA” – way back then  – the game of taking photos was so new to most people  – and I’ll bet not many people took the time to read the instructions of how to focus – and how to place people so that the “BRIGHT SUN” was not making more light than you needed – and it sure would help if you were not aiming the camera into the strong light and the people in the picture  – well what can you say – second guessing  – you will end  up p paying for lots of pictures  that just will not turn out  – not as you were expecting – and then  – the developing of the film – just not a good match???

(Click on the photo – the larger size – helps to see little Denny’s face better! Denny has the best shade of red hair – it’s terrific!)
