Fly your FLAG…today!

Lee Aldrich_001

My son, LEE G. ALDRICH Jr.

When you are in the NAVY… you just LOVE to hear… “NOW HEAR THIS!”  and  also… “ALL HANDS ON DECK!”

I’m guessing that when you are on the “HIGH SEAS” – – everything is an emergency… because you will either sink or swim… unless you have the power of the ALMIGHTY…looking after you and guiding you all along the way…whatever your destination may be. – – BUT – – and let us never forget…to be protected …you must PRAY and ASK  for PROTECTION… against your enemy…wherever she may lie???

Let us never forget,  to remember all of our VETERANS… today…and FOREVER… – – as they are the earthly GUARDIANS…that were sent to protect AMERICA – – and our only HOPE is to keep AMERICA…strong for all generations to follow!

“MEMORIAL DAY – Weekend starts NOW!”

img207

This  is   “Suzanne Somers”  – entertaining aboard the USS Ranger (CV-61) on November 1, 1981

My son Lee G. Aldrich Jr was aboard  the “Ranger” and sitting within the area you can see “Suzanne Somers” doing her dancing  and entertaining  – and all  of the men are seated on deck –  have a few minutes to relax and enjoy  the program – – as the footnote above states that   “Suzanne” did get the temperatures to raise  as in a home-sauna – – –  during this  “CBS” special.

This clipping of this special time  – when Lee was serving in the NAVY – – has been in and among lots of miscellaneous items – all that are of extra special memories  to me – –  but since this is the beginning of the “MEMORIAL DAY” Holiday weekend – just thought that  some  other service men that were aboard the “USS RANGER (CV-61)”  –  might just remember also being in this audience of our service men – –  that is at the time of this filming – –  and  would be nice to have something in the  – FUN types of things to remember???

We should never forget our young men –  – – who give of the best years of their LIFE – to the service of our Country – so that we will always enjoy the FREEDOM that our Fore-Fathers  fought for  – and never forgot to give the ALMIGHTY – – –  the Thanks for their protection – in all of their undertakings – – – to make AMERICA the best UNITED STATES!

“Baby-EASTER Chick”- Hides for Safety!

img016

Following the story from yesterday, this is the 4th and last of the four “Baby-CHICKS” that I bought for a EASTER surprise for the boys.

This is one smart “CHICK” – he knows from paying attention to what was going on with his fellow “BABY-CHICKS” – they were not as particular as to what the enticement was – and ended up getting too much “LOVE”  – from little LEE’s strong fingers – or maybe the other “CHICKS” were just not strong enough and  or programmed for being  a “FAMILY” pet ?

Little Lee is not two years old – looks like he might be about fourteen months – but he was determined to get a hold of the “BABY-CHICK” some how or the other? Looks like he has a small dish of chicken feed –  and guess he thinks that just having the dish with food  in his hand – that the “BABY-CHICK” is just going to come running to him – and that not this “Chick” want to be feed??

So this “BABY-CHICK”is pretty smart –  he found  for himself a very good hiding place. He figured that he could fit under that “TV” and still be able to move faster away  – from,  that  great big baby Lee – who is having trouble bending and squatting and still being able to move fast after the “BABY-CHICK” – and that “pan of  chick feed” might look tempting – but no sense in sticking my neck out for something good to eat – and maybe loose my head???

This “BABY-CHICK” was the one and only of the four chick that lived a good long time.  We did have a “Cocker Spaniel” dog that was given to the boys and was kept outside – and was one very friendly dog. Outside our kitchen door was a large slab of concrete or small patio area – where the dog would eat his meals and spent a lot of his time. So, we decided to put the chicken out there also – and see what happens? Well the two of them became  friends and ate from the same dish – and with no problems. Have a picture of them together eating and if I find it – will post it, too?

The chicken was an early riser – and he like to nest in some large bushes of my next door neighbor. Everything was “OKAY” for a while – but at some point in time this chicken like to let everyone – especially my neighbor, Mrs. Morgan  – know what time it was in the early morning hours. Mrs. Morgan like us and the boys  and I have her picture with her sister at the hospital to visit me and baby Al when he was born – way back in the 1960’s. That photo has been posted – but I may post it again – it is a good picture.

So, getting back to our “Rooster” who like to “Cockle- do” at Mrs. Morgan’s window – we had to find a home for him where he would be happy and live out his full LIFE! At the one restaurant that we used lots of eggs – my husband, Lee talked to the FARMER and told him of our problem. Well, the FARMER – said he he love to take him.  Well that was one HAPPY ROOSTER – that must have thought he was in HEAVEN – He had all of the FARMER’s  farm – just for his play-ground – he would just strut around as if he owned the place. This was truly –  the right place for this  – “Once upon a time – Our little “BABY-CHICK!”

“A new-born baby – for Christmas!”

Lee & Al 001

“Happy Birthday Lee Jr.”

This is one of  those kind  of  pictures  – that make you wonder   “what you were thinking”   – when your little baby brother,  “Al”     – arrived  here  –  on the stage of “LIFE” –   Looks like baby, Al   is saying something to you – and you are listening   – and wondering what does a BIG BROTHER    – do with  a little  – new-born  – baby brother – especially   – when your Mother  – is watching you like a “HAWK”   –  so that you  – learn  – and  do so  – very fast   –  – Look  – LISTEN – WATCH  – WAIT  – someday the baby will  grow old enough   –  to join in the “BIG BOYS GAMES an FUN!

I’m thinking that you are wondering – “When will  – baby Al –  be   “big”  –  as big as me   –  since I am four (4) years old –   –   and do the things that  – I, can do  and the things  – that you need to be bigger to do – like swimming in the “LAKE” across the street?

When I took this photo  of Lee Jr. and baby Al – I sent this picture and some others to my Mother and her sister – our Aunt Irene Riley.  Well, when Aunt Irene got the pictures – this – the above picture – she had  the photo shop enlarge it and put it in a frame – she so liked it  – she was taking it with her and showing it off to everyone!    I now have that large picture on my dresser – just love looking at  – the “LOVES OF MY LIFE!”

“My Neighbor’s Favorite Veteran”

Lee Aldrich_001

My neighbor, “Jackie Janssen” picked the above photo  of my son, “LEE ALDRICH, Jr.   –  out of six (6)  choices as the best!   Jackie said,  “This photo reminds me of my favorite movie star, “Errol Flynn”  – I didn’t realize that “LEE” was so good looking!” – Naturally, I was tickled “PINK” to know that – my neighbor Jackie and I both thought Errol Flynn was our favorite and that she thought so highly of of son, Lee!

In my  “book”  all parents think that their children are the best looking and then  – when they are in the service of their  “Country”   – that your children in  uniform look good –  and are doing their part  – so that their “Family” and all the neighbors  – know that  – they are doing what is right for all  “Americans”   – and that is  to protect our “Freedoms” – and help all of us realize that we all must work together  –   so we can continue  to enjoy our   “PROSPERITY!”
