“Marie Brady… YOUNG and Charming”
When we are “YOUNG” and have PHOTOS taken – – we can find a hundred and one things wrong with that PHOTO – – We do not throw it away… we just put these Prize PHOTOS – – in an old ‘show box’ – – and on a top closet shelf – – and there they stay.
This is “Marie Brady” and at a pretty young age – – and… if I say so, myself… she is looking beautiful – – so slim and trim – – and still early 1900’s – – as the dress is still on the long side – – still pretty close to the ankles – – – some might say… getting a little on the ‘daring’ side – – as I have PHOTOS of her in the same time frame – – with her “MOTHER” – – and their skirts are still to the shoe length.
This next PHOTO is Marie with her good friend “HAZEL DEBUQUE” – – will have to check spelling of Hazel’s last name.
As a collector and saver of old FAMILY memorabilia – – there is a slim chance – – when I just might find some old CHRISTMAS CARDS – – and will find “HAZEL’s” last name – – and then of course – – will have to do a search for this article and correct the spelling of her last name. Then I can take this note off – – but this note is a reminder to my old brain – – there is some research work to be done here.
If memory serves me… there was a time that my MOTHER wanted to see her old friend, HAZEL – – MOM had found her name listed in the telephone book – – “HAZEL” was living on “KINGSHIGHWAY near Natural Bridge – – and near the “DePAUL Hospital” – – so we drove over to see her. We did find her apartment – – but she was not home – – so I never did get to meet Hazel – – a good and long time friend, to my MOTHER.

“Remembering Mama’s Favorite Music”
This week is for remembering … MARIE BRADY – – this PHOTO is one that I liked – – but my MOTHER did not like – – she never said exactly why – – and NOW … I never will find out – – so … if someone knows what I do not – – let me know??
When thinking back about some of the music that “MAMA” liked – – I have found that I have enjoyed as well. In fact when my sons were taking music lessons – – some of the songs that we LOVE – – my sons have also decided to learn to play on the piano – – some MUSIC is on the difficult side to learn – – but with practice and determination to please the ones you LOVE – – by playing what they enjoy – – it makes for much practice till perfection is reached.
To be able to hear – – “Clair de Lune” – – for yourself… is worth a thousand words – – of which… I could not do the music justice… so listen and let me know what you think???

“Marie Brady in the 1920’s”
This is the 1920’s and my “MOM” to be is here with girl friends – – and ready to have FUN!
“MARIE BRADY” is sitting in the middle of the three girls on the upper step – – and has that longer Pearl necklace – – and I think… the best looking of the five girls.
In those days… most of the girls were tall and slim – – long skirts – – black stockings – – and their hair style was just “so so” – – just the latest and always looking like they just stepped out of a “BAND BOX” – – that is the “word” – – which… I remember my Mother saying – – when she would refer back to her younger days.
In the 1920’s… the “Charleston Dance” was the hottest dance – – and to be any kind of a “DANCER” – – you would know… how to do the “CHARLESTON” dance! So… just in case you want to see and hear the music… this is just for you.
