“Dennis Potters “Pennies from Heaven” 1978 Episode1 Complete”

Johnny Collini
Dennis Potter’s “Pennies from Heaven” is a true masterpiece.
Bob Hoskins, what can you say, simply brilliant along with Gemma & Cheryl who reminded me so much of Marilyn Monroe in the last two episodes.
What more can you say about the brilliance of Potter who left this world far too early.

“Sit back and enjoy”  … “The Good Ole Days”

“If I have to, I can do anything”

I Am Woman

I Am Woman

by Helen Reddy

on I Am Woman (1972), Live in London (1978)

I am woman, hear me roar
In numbers too big to ignore
And I know too much to go back an’ pretend
‘Cause I’ve heard it all before
And I’ve been down there on the floor
No one’s ever gonna keep me down again

Oh yes, I am wise
But it’s wisdom born of pain
Yes, I’ve paid the price
But look how much I gained
If I have to, I can do anything
I am strong
(Strong)
I am invincible
(Invincible)
I am woman

You can bend but never break me
‘Cause it only serves to make me
More determined to achieve my final goal
And I come back even stronger
Not a novice any longer
‘Cause you’ve deepened the conviction in my soul

Oh yes, I am wise
But it’s wisdom born of pain
Yes, I’ve paid the price
But look how much I gained
If I have to, I can do anything
I am strong
(Strong)
I am invincible
(Invincible)
I am woman

I am woman watch me grow
See me standing toe to toe
As I spread my lovin’ arms across the land
But I’m still an embryo
With a long, long way to go
Until I make my brother understand

Oh yes, I am wise
But it’s wisdom born of pain
Yes, I’ve paid the price
But look how much I gained
If I have to, I can face anything
I am strong
(Strong)
I am invincible
(Invincible)
I am woman

I am woman
I am invincible
I am strong
I am woman
I am invincible
I am strong
I am woman

“Admiral McRaven Leaves the Audience SPEECHLESS “

One of the Best Motivational Speeches

LCDRhammond
16 years in the Navy myself, 2 war zones, been feeling hopeless since getting out yet this video has once again inspired me to be that person I was while wearing the uniform.
Don’t know about anyone else but I have no problem admitting to the fact I got a little teary eyed listing to this.

US Navy Admiral William H. McRaven, one of the most decorated US commanders, delivers one of the best motivational speeches you will ever hear.

Without pushing your limits, without occasionally sliding down the rope headfirst, without daring greatly, you will never know what is truly possible in your life.”

“Neil Diamond – Sweet Caroline High Quality Neil diamond”

Neil Diamond – Sweet Caroline,

High Quality to Live Audience in Neil Diamond’s Early Years.

Kenneth Hall
As a young soldier serving in an armored workshops based in West Germany during the early 70’s in the cold war…
I first heard Neil Diamond.
I was stunned at this magnificent voice coming over the speakers.
To this day I carry his music in my vehicle.
Roger Huff
dedicated to my sweet Caroline married now for 54 years still crazy about her,  love you honey
Micah Fisher
I love this song.
My grandpa was a huge Neil Diamond fan, and at his funeral, they played this.
Caroline E.
My family always sang this song to me when I was little,
because my names Caroline and now that I’m in my teens I still love it(:
Curtis Caldwell
This song is so awesome.
Hearing this when the Carolina Panthers win a home game is the greatest feeling ever.
It had become our official song.
Neil has a fantastic voice which makes the songs he sings something special.
He imparts feeling to each song a quality few singers have nowadays.
I feel he really means what he is singing.
That is the reason in my twenties Neil Diamond was my favorite male Singer.

“Super Woman’s Name will be, Powerful Katrinka”

 “Powerful Katrinka”

When you hear  some words, and or names that sound kinda “funny to your ears” – that is, when you are a little kid – they have a way of getting stuck in your brain, somewhere, “YOU” remember them for always!

My Mother had the best command of the “English Language” and with her voice and diction – she could have been a stand-in for actress, “Betty Davis”  and she reminded me of my MOTHER… any time, that  I saw her in a Movie.

When my Mother wanted your attention – she had that  type of voice, to let you know exactly, what she wanted,  and there was no way for you escape – the distinctive words,  came across so very clear!

As I grew – up, getting taller- and was always able to reach and to do  that which she was not able to do – my Mother would refer to me as her, “Powerful Katrinka!”

I always thought, that I was the next “Super Woman” since, I was so able to do whatever Mom wanted me to do.

There was that time, when my Father was not around and not available to hang the  “Storm Windows” and with the cold weather coming  on strong, something had to be done NOW!

Mom needed those “storm-windows” hung and she was unable to do the hanging – as she was not able to carry then up from the basement.

Just…My luck… (I was the only one around and available to be told how you get these windows up,  from the basement – without breaking – clean them – and then  hang.)

We lived in North Saint Louis and you may have seen this type   of window  on some of the older homes. The height was at least 6 foot and in an all in  one piece, with the hanging hooks at the top.

So, this job  was for me, to bring each one up from the basement – without breaking – wash both sides and dry.

The windows have all been washed on the outside of the house – so that when, I am ready to hang  a “clean storm-window”…  we will have clean and clear glass to see through.

“That  includes both the house inside and outside windows…  “those” and the Storm windows…  were just so sparkling clean!”

There were “6 storm-windows” for me to hang – Now…  just thinking about doing that job – I’m worn out and just could not begin, to do any of that work,  that I was  involved with … but, at that time… the job  just had to be done!

This was just one of those times, when I remember being called, “Powerful Katrinka!”

“My guess was that,  that “name” meant that,  I was as strong as any  “Superwoman”… as I was always there, and always  available, to do any kind of work… that needed to be done!”
