Photo survives a lifetime!

Dad Service Photo 001

Denny H. McClarren – on back of photo  – 1st Infantry Div., Fleet Philippines.

From the looks of this photo – the “war” was in the billfold.  This is the oldest of photos of my Dad. Never a baby picture  – no teenage  photos – times back then were bad,  and if you wanted to eat  – you would join the ARMY  – and work in the kitchen. My Dad was a very good Chef!

My Daddy always looks like Clark Gable  in Any Number can Play  –  movie. My Dad alsays has a cigarette in the mouth, no matter what he is doing and when you see Clark Gable in the movies smoking – you see his twin –  my Dad – they are both from Ohio!  Clark Gable,  birthdate Feb. 1st, My Dad’s Feb. 2nd. This picture was taken in front of German St. Vincent Orphan Home – 1948.

“Happy Birthday Daddy!”

Daddy in uniform 001

February 2nd is Daddy’s Birthday! This picture is of us during the early 1940s – before WWII was over and there were more people in uniform. With Saint Louis Ubion Station in the downtown area –  the Army Finance Center going strong – my Dad was in step with the best!

February 2014 Birthdays

Denny H. McClarren Sr. would be 102 years old on the 2nd of February. He just loved to tell everyone his birthday was – two – two – twelve!

On Sunday the 2nd of February – looks like a first, Super Bowl coincides with Groundhog Day!  So, this Sunday – most of America will be sitting in front of the ‘TV’ watching the big game? And how many those are interested in the weather results for the early spring or more of the cold stuff we have on the ground? The big question – “Will Phil see his shadow?” For this “first of firsts” – “who will win and what will the weather be?”

Thomas F. McClarren is celebrating his 74th year on Thursday, the 13th of February. So, let’s celebrate with the McClarrens – Tom74 – Denny 75 – Mary Ellen 76 – what perfect planning?

Valentine’s Day – Friday the 14th – all weekend to celebrate with the “LOVE” of your life! Where there is “LOVE” – there is “LIFE!”

Kathleen McClarren and her twin sister Eve Karen McClarren Scott on Sunday, the 16th of February.

No wonder February is a short month – how can anyone keep up with all this important stuff to do, and still enjoy all the “LOVE” that goes with all of these activities and things we want to share with the “LOVES” of our “LIVES!”
