Perfect Mother’s Day with Grand-Children!

photo

How do you have a “PERFECT MOTHER’s DAY?” Have the most wonderful Grand-Children! If I did not know better – I would think – looking at this photo with my Grand-Children – that we were in the Photographer’s Studio – and you know how they arrange you before taking pictures? Well – as I am looking , and this is by-far the very best photo in a long time – some one above must have been putting each  of us  in the right spot  – did some magic with our eyes, and painted us in with beautiful faces – just looking so perfect for the camera  – In  my “BOOK”  – a miracle – for a once in a “LIFE-TIME – this picture is a real treasure to me!

Thank you, Almighty Yahweh, for putting each of your creations in just the right spot –  as You have designed,  from the beginning of  TIME  – till  our scheduled  LIFE-TIME!

Mother’s Day – 1964

img032

Still in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and ready to go to Church. My husband Lee is taking this picture and rather take pctures at home,  than at the Church – since in those days  most people only took pictures for something more important than just attending Church as a family.

I am glad that I took the few pictures that I found the time to take – as my husband died in 1967. He was just too week after being shot and being in a coma for  21 days. If he had pain – he never took time to complain and did all kinds of things as a FAMILY GROUP – if you have a family – may as well enjoy every moment you have while you  are here on earth, with the ones you “LOVE” the most!

Mother’s Day -1960

img031

We moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and we are in front of the Catholic Church – we attended on Sunday mornings! In the left half of this two-part photo, my husband Lee is taking this  of Donald and  me holding Little Lee – and I am taking the right side of this photo – Donald is holding Little Lee and on their left is Thomas and my husband Lee, standing nice and tall.

My husband retired  on a  medical disablity  after twenty yrears on the Police Dept., and his brother Al talked him into opening  and running a restaurant . Lucky for me to get a transfer  from Southwestern Bell to Southern Bell at that time  – with three children looks like everybody has to do their part to make a “LIFE” and half way enjoy everything you do!

MOM in the late 1920’s!

img030

This is what they looked like in the 1920’s!  On the left is Aunt Irene Brady Riley, and next in the middle is a cousin from the Fleming or Glennon family, and then is my Mom to be  – but not for at least ten  to fifieen years.

My Mother was the “13” and last child in the family and as such , it was determined  that she would be the one to take care of the parents, in their old age. When my mother was born – most people thought she was one of the older brother’s child  –  since several of the older brothers were married – and no one could believe that old Mrs. Thomas Brady was still having children!

“No. 1 MOMMA!”

img029

My “MOTHER” was   “A- #1” – all the way! This picture is of me as a new baby and the first of six children. Being the first was a “LUCKY” position to be in  – in the birth-order as I have read, years ago – but as I saw and heard lots of stuff in our family, some that made me very sick to have to realize – that “MOTHER-HOOD” is very tough for young Mothers, if you happen to be married to the wrong type of husband. I am “Thankful” –  that I receive my Mother to be “MY MOTHER” Marie Brady-McClarren!

My wish for Almighty Yahweh is –  to bless all those women that will become “MOTHERS” – to be the very  best “MOTHERS”  that they can be – and that their children will always remember to “LOVE their MOTHER’s  the mostest!”

“Our New Baby – Jaime!” “Is a BIG GIRL TODAY”

On May 18th – our little “baby, Jaime” was born – and this  is one of the very first full “FAMILY”  Photos taken at the AIRPORT!     I’m…  the “Grandma” Ellen holding  “big sister, Alyssa”…   and in front of me  and in his “CUB Scout” outfit is “BIG BROTHER, Alan” –  left of me and in the center  is “Jill, new Mama”  – and next to Jill is   “Daddy, Al” and holding our brand new  “baby, JAIME” – and  this is one of those Fun Days when DADDY and MOMMY will be taking off in  their plane – – and guess what??? – – I will be baby sitting all three of the best of best GRAND-Children! “And will we be having “FUN” like never before!”

The best part of “FLYING”  is to own your own plane and “FLY” just as soon as the new day starts! Everyone knows that good little  old “saying”  – – “Early to BED – early  to rise in the morning – – makes for  more  FAMILY  Fun Flying together and as often as possible!”

..  “I’m a big girl NOW!”  “Alyssa… Grandma…Jaime”

There is nothing like growing up and being a big girl – – and having a chance to go to a “Charity” function  –  for the children at St.  Vincent’s  called… “KOOKIN’ FOR KIDS” – –  one of their events held in the SUMMER month of August – – and for us to all  go – – it was one of the best times we had – – all dressed in our “SUNDAY”  best – – “Grandma” even wore a hat!

The best memory of this PHOTO is when “GRANDMA” received it – – and taking a look, said “This reminds me of the days in the   “Roaring Twenties”  Days” – – we sure are dressed to start dancing the “Charleston”  one of those dances’ that  “Great Grandma” taught  to her BOSS  when she work for “Shell OIL Co.”- – as she sure could dance up a storm – – back then in those good ole days!

“HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAIME” – – and celebrate all week  long – –  it takes that long for you to  visit with all of the FAMILY and FRIENDS – – and enjoy as I am praying that you will be enjoying many more “HAPPY BIRTHDAYS”  in this LIFE time!     D.V.
