“Enjoy a “COOKIE” – – while reading…”

Sometimes… when  “GRANDMA”   is under the  weather – – just unable to write…  as she would like too… – – “Grandma”  would like for you… the reader to be thinking of something good… while reading…  some of the other  daily posts – – and it sure would be good to be reading and also have a good “COOKIE” to enjoy… while reading.

If you… the reader…  feels that having a good  “COOKIE”  to enjoy… while reading – – be sure to let me know!  “OKAY”… “OKAY!”

Cookie making Day!   In the  last  week  I’ve read more recipes for cookies and  set several that I have never made before aside to try out   –  and Today –I made cookies! I have several packages of  Toll House  – Nestle semi-sweet chips  and with it being a dreary day outside – dark and raining  – thought  – can’t  try something new may as well go with an old  “favorites” chocolate chip recipe  on the package.

When you are thinking of making cookies and want several  – for the taste buds to feel like something special is going on  – here’s what I did.

The recipe does not call for the flour to be sifted, so that is what I did and I did sift the flour three times. Also, I used  one (1) cup  cake flour  to see if I get a better taste? The recipes calls for two (2) eggs so I used  three (3) eggs, because  I was going to add almost a cup of flake coconut – did not really measure  – just eye ball  – like mother used to do!  Also, to give the cookie some  extra body  –  something good for the system  – almost a cup of quick oats  – since they are what every body needs   –  and I can really justify my eating an extra cookie  –  when I can say  “I’m having my  ‘oats’ today!” And I was more than generous when adding the nuts! It calls for a cup  chopped nuts and I put in almost two (2) cups.

Rather than chop the nuts, I put them in after the eggs were added with the the coconut and oats so the mixer could do the chopping. Ten minutes per try  and (16) cookies per tray and I was baking! I have two containers full of cookies and really feel good.

Best part of baking cookies   – I sampled (1) one cookie from each tray full   –   and they were really  “Good!” (more…)

“Something… SPECIAL for SENIORS”

WHY EXERCISE?

tMost seniors never get enough exercise.

In His wisdom God decreed thatseniors become forgetful so they would have to search for their glasses, keys and other things thus doing more walking. And God looked down and saw that it was good.

Then God saw there was another need.   In His wisdom

He made  seniors   lose   coordination   so they would drop things requiring them to bend, reach & stretch. And God looked down and saw that it was good.

Then God considered th efunction of bladders and decided seniors would have additional calls of nature requiring more trips to the bathroom, thus providing more exercise.  God looked down and saw that it was good.

So if you find as you age, you are getting up and down more, remember it’s God’s will.   It is all in your best interest even though   you mutter under your breath.

Nine   Important  Facts  To Remember      As We  Grow Older :

#9  Death is the number 1 killer in the world.

#8  Life is sexually transmitted.

#7  Good health is merely the slowest possible rate at which one can die.

#6   Men have 2 motivations:   hunger and hanky panky, and they can’t tell them apart. If you see a gleam in his eyes, make him a sandwich.

#5  Give a person a fish and you feed them for a day.   Teach a person to use the Internet, especially WhatsApp, FaceBook and Twitter, and they won’t bother you for weeks, months, most probably for years.

#4  Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in the hospital, dying of  nothing.

#3  All of us could take a lesson from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism.

#2  In the 60’s, people took LSD to make the world weird. Now the world is weird, and people take Prozac to make it normal.

#1  Life is like a jar of jalapeno peppers.

What you do today may be a burning

issue  tomorrow.

“Start with a GOOD FOUNDATION!”

Received this “Book Mark” in the mail yesterday – – which would not really mean too much … – – but – – just the day before…. I was just telling someone that  – – my suggestion  for them would be to start their “BIBLE” reading with “Psalm 139” as a good start – – since  there is so much in the entire “Psalm 139” – – letting you know – –  that ….  you were thought of way before anything on this earth ever occurred.

Check out your BIBLE – – and after  reading…  “Psalm 139” – – let me know what you think?

Some verses – – that…  have meaning – – when reading… Psalm 119 V.5   Oh that my ways were established  – To observe your statutes!

V.8   I will observe your statutes:  Oh forsake me not utterly.

V.10  With my whole heart have I  sought you:  Oh let me not wander from your commandments.

V. 11  Your word have I laid up in my heart, That I might not sin against you.

V. 12  Blessed are you, O Yahweh:  Teach  me your statutes.

THE LADY PLUMBER

  THE LADY PLUMBER
Thank God for people like this woman…
You wonder what criteria was used to select people for the peace prize.

Read the story below and we then understand how pathetic and superficial our world has become.
Remember this lady?
unnamed
Irena Sendler

Died: May 12, 2008 (aged 98)
Warsaw , Poland

During WWII, Irena, got permission to work in the Warsaw ghetto,

as a Plumbing/Sewer specialist. She had an ulterior motive.

Irena smuggled Jewish infants out in the bottom of the tool box she carried.

She also carried a burlap sack in the back of her truck, for larger kids.

Irena kept a dog in the back that she trained to bark when the Nazi soldiers let her in and out of the ghetto.

The soldiers, of course, wanted nothing to do with the dog and the barking covered the kids/infants noises.

During her time of doing this, she managed to smuggle out and save 2500 kids/infants.
Ultimately, she was caught, however, and the Nazis broke both of her legs and arms and beat her severely.
Irena kept a record of the names of all the kids she had smuggled out, in a glass jar that she buried under a tree in
her back yard. After the war, she tried to locate any parents that may have survived and tried to reunite the family.
Most had been gassed. Those kids she helped got placed into foster family homes or adopted.

In 2007 Irena was up for the Nobel Peace Prize.
She was not selected.

In MEMORIAM – 65 YEARS LATER
It is now more than 65 years since the Second World War in Europe ended.
This e-mail is being sent as a memorial chain, In memory of the six million Jews, 20 million Russians, 10 million Christians and 1,900 Catholic priests who were murdered and massacre

The Four Agreements

the-four-agreements-624x624

I recently read a book called The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz that opened my eyes to a new way of thinking and way of living. The premise is that there are four agreements you make with yourself and when followed miraculous things will happen.

As you practice living these four practices your life will dramatically change. In the beginning these new habits will be challenging and you will lapse countless times. With practice these agreements become integrated into your being and every area of your life and become easy habits to keep.

The Four Agreements are:

1. Be Impeccable with your Word: Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the Word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your Word in the direction of truth and love.

2. Don’t Take Anything Personally
Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won’t be the victim of needless suffering.

3. Don’t Make Assumptions
Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness and drama. With just this one agreement, you can completely transform your life.

4. Always Do Your Best
Your best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstance, simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse, and regret.

For more on this, check out the book, The Four Agreements. It has the power to transform our lives to a new experience of freedom, love and true happiness.
