“HOLD… YOUR HORSES”

“Looks like…  I am the only “HORSE” for miles around that likes to  do something… different and just for FUN!”  – – “SURE is nice of someone to drop this bundle  of colorful and bright shinning bulbs – – they all look so nice – – and since I see the  “humans”  in their houses   – – bringing in “TREES” and   all kinds of green growing stuff – – – putting all kinds of bright items on them – – and always by a window – – so all of  us horses outside can see – – that every thing inside is bright and  ever  so beautiful with all these  special bulbs  – – that have to be handle with ever  so much care!”

“Do  YOU see what I see???”

“Do YOU – – HEAR – – what I…  HEAR???’

“There is defiantly something going on – – today’s  what  should  be – – as I hear  – –   the   AUTUMN short day of this  year – – and the weather is getting colder – – maybe  even  “SNOW” tomorrow – – and all of the other  “ANIMALS’ on this FARM – – are busy doing all kinds of stuff – – that I do not think we should be doing – – ‘What do you think’  – – should we  – – too  be joining in with everyone  – – and start doing stuff – – that maybe we are not  allowed to do??”

“My best guess is… lets just watch and see – – maybe there is a message in all of these “goings on” – – and  – – I am just learning all about  – – all of this  ‘NEW KIND’  of activity – – do not want to up set the old  “apple” cart… today.”     D.V.

“Remember… What we said…SANTA”

“Santa… You are terrific – – We did not expect for you to  bring another whole basket of APPLES  here – – just for us!”

“We have been out here in this  wide open  field – – just playing around in the   brightest white  SNOW – – –  all of us…  having a whole lot of FUN … since all of  the people near by are in their  “stocking caps” and very warm homes – – all sound asleep… just waiting for you to make a visit to their homes!”

“While we  were playing that game…”Dashing through the Snow… in the  “ONE HORSE SLEIGH” – – we kinda thought … that just maybe… YOU SANTA… might need a  ‘back-up’ crew to guide  YOU  through  the SNOW  and over the RIVER – – to our good friend… “GRAND-MOTHER’s” – – –  HOUSE!”

“What about it… SANTA – – did you ever think about using   us – – your best friends – – we can travel in all kinds of weather – – and at this time of the year – – we are all wearing our heavier coats – – so we can work long and hard… just for you… since “YOU” – – “DEAR SANTA” – – are so good at bringing all those nice toys – – to all the good girls and boys!”

“Since I…  am in charge here… “SANTA” – – just  in appreciation for all that  “YOU” do in the middle of night – – and all around the WORLD – –  We do not want you to forget us – – WE are here and ready to go – – when ever  YOU want us to go and  in a flash…  as fast as “OLD RUDOLPH”  – – we want to help everybody have the best  “CHRISTMAS” – – Thanks again for these   “APPLES” – –  and remember – – We are here for YOU!”     D.V.

“WHAT … Do You SEE?”

“Am I ever glad – – that you guys  came… when I started calling out in every direction – – this sure is a strange sight to see!”  “Do any of you remember ever seeing something like this going on  – – when you were younger?”

“At the  ‘one’  house where I drop in… from time to time – – they sometimes leave something outside in the back yard – – for me – – and sometimes it  is really  good smelling – – and even better – – when I start to eat it.”  “I have regular places that like me to come around… just so that they can say “MEOW… MEOW” – — and I always answer back “MEOW” – – and after that goes on for awhile – – I eat…  and when I am done there – – I just move on to my next favorite  ‘family of humans’  – – and listen to them talking.”

“This  is what I heard”…  “That…  tonight there is a once a year guy coming with lots of  “PRESENTS’  for everyone – – but they were telling their kids – – that “HE” will not stop by…  if   ALL the  children are not good – – so be “GOOD for GOODNESS  SAKE” – – if you want a surprise?”

So… Do you think that  – – that ‘thing’  in the night sky is what they were talking about?”

“I do not know for sure… but we can just sit here – – and watch – – everything that is going on – – and we will tell all of our friends… tomorrow!”

“Something is going on… do you  guys hear anything…yet?”

“Checking in with SANTA”

Sometimes it is good to make a visit to see “Dear ole Santa” in the stores – – just so everyone has a chance to express what they would like – – if there might be someone whit good ears to hear and pay attention too  – – and just might even…   see to it that – –  that “WISH” could be fulfilled.

This PHOTO with “SANTA… himself”   – – is little “AL’  sitting on SANTA’s lap – – and  he  would be five years old – – and standing next is big brother “LEE”  always a sharp dresser – – even wearing his “Cub Scout” ring – – – and I still have some of the “letters” that he would write to “SANTA” with everything he would like – – if available?  “LEE” would be about nine years old on this PHOTO. This PHOTO would have been taken for the 1967 Christmas – – as we are now in Saint Louis – – at the South County FAMOUS  BARR STORE.

What a big difference in the  way the boys are dressed – – – this is Fort Lauderdale, Florida.  Sitting on the lap of  “SANTA” is baby  “AL”  and since his birthday is in January – – “Al” is only  “eleven months” old.

Standing  in front of  “SANTA” is big brother, “LEE” and it  looks like he  is looking all over the “TOY”  department to see if   there is a ‘special place’  he should direct me – – to see what “TOYS” could be available for  him and his little brother “AL” – – as I am thinking this could be a “JEFFERSON SUPER MART” store – –  a fairly  new and  extra  large place to buy everything all on one floor.

“Did you notice that the boys have “summer” wear on – – as it was always much warmer – – and even on “NEW YEARS DAY” we would be on the  “OCEAN BEACH”  in our swim suits – –  – – so much nicer than  the cold “Saint LOUIS” weather!”

“SIX DAYS till… CHRISTMAS…  does your “SANTA”  know what you  are  “WISHING FOR?”     D.V.
