“ACTIVITIES GALORE”- “It is that TIME of the YEAR”

“Let’s do it right –  NOW!”

                                 “Lee in Action!”

“Little Lee”  – – not quite two 2 years old and pulling the lawn mower – looks like he  has lots of strength? Everything from  our  “Lawn & Tool Shed” that was  at all possible for “Little Lee”  to haul to his friend’s house  only one block away, he brought  and or pulled there! We were the first house  on this block on N.E. 18th Avenue and Lee’s friend, Arthur’s house was the first house one block north. Our house was on the block next to the Bennett School, and most of the kids in the neighborhood would pass by our house if they walked to school. In the 1960’s, I do not remember any school buses picking up kids – but maybe some of the parents might  have  taken the time to drive their children.

“Little Lee”  is a very friendly child, and with his two step-brothers, who were older,  there were quite a few boys in and around our house. I was also “DEN-Mother” for Donald’s  Cub-scout group and we would have weekly meetings at our home  and  the “PACK” meetings once a month at the school. In my Cub-scout group – “Little Lee”  was included in lots of the activities we did in our home as I would take my group of boys on trips which included “Little Lee”  – as he was having lots of fun seeing and meeting boys and learning  activities  with the boys in my “DEN” group.

With each of the “DEN” weekly meetings, there were supplies that I needed for each boy to work with, as I did not think that each of the boys could afford to be buying the necessary materials that were required,  I would go to different stores and ask for donations of things that  they might be throwing out – but only  items and or things  that we could make do for  our BOY  Scout projects. A great place to get lots of items – were the local “wall-paper” stores. They would have expired sample books of wall paper swatches and other items that the “CUB  SCOUTS”  really enjoyed looking through for papers that blended in that which they had in their own homes – and one popular item  that the boys would make…  was a “WASTE BASKET” – and other fancy papered boxes to use in their homes! “Kentucky Fried Chicken”  provided the buckets that my group of boys would decorate.

“Little Lee” would participate in making waste baskets as well as lots of the other things they were doing –   in the “past” stories you will see  “Little Lee”  in a “CUB SCOUT” uniform  as you see him here – – in “Donny’s”and just as soon as Lee was old enough – he joined the “CUB SCOUTS – – picking up lots of Badges and Prizes for his work  – – and just being the best “Scout”  – – the best one  – – that I know – –  as he enjoyed the  work he was putting into this – – “Lee later on joined the U.S. Navy – – and was the best looking “NAVY MAN” that I know of – – what else would a MOTHER have to say about her son!    D.V.

“The Quick… Brown Fox… Jumped Over”

“JUMPS   over the farmer’s fence!” ***    *******  “OH… so you think that  – – that is not correct?” – – “Well the answer is at the bottom of this  page – – check it out – – and practice your typing skills – – just for FUN!” ***    *******

“Just be as quiet as you can be – – when we move – – it will be in a hurry!” – – “OKAY?”

“If you see something… that I do not see – – let me know?”

“Sometimes we have to share with FRIENDS”

“The NOSE…KNOWS”

Just thinking – – that when we were created – – we did not give it a second thought… as to  “WHY”  our little ole “NOSE” is smack dab in the middle of our face? Did you ever give that  a thought before? – – But when looking at this PHOTO – – the answer is clear!

We talk with our NOSE!  Our “NOSE” is right there in front of our face – – and when we can  not see clearly  – – our “NOSE” finds the way to our “MOTHERS” – – where we can have the most intimate of conversation – – and all without any other person  hearing and or knowing what we are communicating  about!

Without our even being able to talk as yet – – we find our “MOTHERS” and we  place our “NOSE so close to our “MOTHER” – – that she will know exactly what we are wanting to say – – she can understand us – – and all without words ever being spoken! “It is as  if… “the  NOSE…KNOWS” – – and in the above PHOTO – – “Baby Lex” has a mighty powerful conversation going on with his Mother – –  and MOM is giving “BABY”  her full and undivided attention – – which is just what a “new born baby” wants and needs!

“WOW” – – “It is wonderful to be a “Great Grandma” – – because like I had heard someone say along time ago… “If we could start out as “Grand-parents” first… we would make better “PARENTS” to our own children” – – and I do believe that statement to be so correct!”

“When we are young and first starting  out  as a married couple – – and then the children start to come – – WE parents… also  a brand NEW COUPLE – – hardly know who we are – – much less know anything about bringing  “NEW LIFE” in to this world?” We hardly know how to take care of ourselves – – much less our  married partner – – plus taking care of our work schedule and or if we are still  in school and or some other activity – – we really are not  settled and ready   to be parents – – we did no training in that field of study – – and we will be making all kinds of mistakes – – on our first children – – the “LOVE” of  our LIFE – – and suffer many regrets.  So…  we must be open to learning  and very fast – – “on the Job” training – – and never ever regret our decision as our “Creator” is watching and guiding us – – if we but ask for  HIS   HELP – – that we need!

“MY second PHOTO… “With EYES WIDE OPEN”… Our LOVE is here to stay – – and  with LOVE  first and foremost – – we will  do as our Parents did – – and with their LOVE for us and each generation  yet to come – – our Creator is leading us  on  HIS PATH – – the one  that we will follow!”    D.V.    ***    *******

“Peek a Boo, I See You… Song”

“When “Baby” is in his first months – –  He will just LOVE to see YOU… “Mama” – – and even more … he will LOVE you singing and playing  some easy to remember games – – that will get his eyes focused on you and what is going on in his  brand “NEW” world!

“This is what I see… “BABY LEX” is starting to wake up – – he hears something going on around him —  he sees  “MAMA”  putting a choice of shoes for the day near to him – – lots of activity – – all  NEW stuff to learn today – – and his eyes are just about to open – – for this brand NEW DAY… of learning!”

“Mommy…  you woke me up just in time – – as I am now hungry     and ready to get all dressed up in some brand new clothes – – want to take off these  nighties – – and start to learn all NEW stuff – – have to keep up with all of the other  “NEW BORN BABIES” on the block!”

“There is one very important thing that I want you to know… Mommy –  “I LOVE YOU the mostest” –  when you hold me in your arms – – like you are doing right NOW – – this is my very favorite Time!”

“I know that you do not understand me – – since the words are not coming out of my mouth –  like I wish that they would – – but I hope that you can see – – that the way I am looking at you and my facial expression is full of  all the LOVE that I can muster up just for you – – and my arms are holding you – – in the only way that I can hold you right NOW – –  – and I know you are looking into my eyes – – as I am looking into your eyes  – – and  my LOVE… right from my heart    is being return to you  – – as it will be – – forever and ever!”

“MOM” – – “Just so  that  you will always know – – YOU will always be…  my very first LOVE – – because the Almighty Creator… gave  to me… the very best MOM in  this… MY  world!”

“To all of MY GRANDMAS…Sending My LOVE”

“Great day in the morning… some little ole “rascal”   planted a “smack” right there for everyone to see!”   “Sure do hope that  these  “smacks” wash off – – before I get into trouble – – just being a little fresh!”

****“I just did not realize that I was so popular – – at this early age in my life – – but…  when you have  “four LIVE Grandmas” – – what  can  a little ole fellow like me do – – but  to give   “THANKS ” to my Creator  – – for the FAMILY that wants me and LOVES me the mostest!”

“I just can not  get over all of the attention that I am receiving – – even while I am trying to sleep – – I can still hear  all of the accolades – – almost as if   I was President of some fine organization!”

****“Am I “LUCKY” or not?” – – Here I am in the arms of  my “Great-Great-Great Grandma, Phyllis”  wearing the pink jacket – – and my “MOM” next with big smiles that the FAMILY  has a long life span  – – as “MOM’s”  “Grandma, Char”  is sitting next to her is  now a “GREAT-GREAT Grandma” and her daughter,  “Jill”  has just now become a “Grandma” – – is this exciting  or WHAT?”

“Whit all of those big smiles –  today – – what can a little ol baby like me think – – can tomorrow be much better – – as it is always     TODAY – – Yesterday is gone forever – –  and when we wish for it to be even better TOMORROW – –  that  “day” never arrives – – as it is always just… TODAY!

“So… I am grateful and most THANKFUL for my brand NEW FAMILY – –  and am asking that the Almighty  – – will  Bless each and everyone of my  “GRANDMAS” – –  for all the LOVE that  they share one with another – – as it is that “LOVE” that makes this world keep on  a  turning day to day!”    D.V.

“Just a Sleeping and Thinking”

When PHOTOS are taken of  “new-born” babies – – sometimes we wonder where in the world are they- – with their thoughts – as this world is all NEW – – and their brains do not have much to know of what is going on – – so to me… this PHOTO tells me – – that little baby, Lex is pondering this new exciting world – – that he has just arrived  in  – – to be the best thing that happened to all of us!

His little left hand is positioned to the left side of his face – – in a position that all most looks as if he is in communication… with another ANGEL – – since he still has his communication skills connected with the ANGELS!

Looks to me  as if  this is a serious matter – -just  the way that I am reading his facial expression – – “What do you think” – – “Do you see what I see” – – these Photos of little Lex – – are just the best!

……“This is a real authentic  “Mother and Child” Photo  – – if ever I saw one. Almost as if “Little Lex”  is asking “MOTHER”  – – I sure miss being inside of you – – we did so many things together for those nine months – – I do not ever want to leave you – – You are the very best MOTHER – – a little baby like me – – could have ever wished for!”

“This is the best place for me to be – – in your ever loving arms – – which I want  – – now and forever – – Thank you Almighty Creator for giving  to me, LEX…this best FAMILY – –  I know that I will be forever Thankful and Grateful – –  I am so  much very Blessed… in the arms of my MOTHER!”   D.V. ***    *******
