The show was over, but the encore that ensued was extraordinary. Trimmed it down to the final 15 minutes, but please buy the DVD and see the entire show. It’s his best work since Riverdance. The only thing missing is beautiful Jean Butler. Do enjoy! – I claim no ownership/rights. Simply for entertainment and pleasure.

“Some old time MUSIC Just for Today”

If you were  lucky to be living  in the good ole days of 1944… then you did get to hear this song… as it was setting the mood to do your part in the WWII effort… with a “positive attitude we would WIN!”

Wikipedia gives some background on the origin of one of the most popular song in the 1940s, “Accentuate the Positive”, the attitude of doing right. In 1944, singer/songwriter Johnny Mercer came to hear of one of the Sermons of the Reverend M. J. Divine (better known as FATHER DIVINE), Founder of the International Peace Mission Movement and Fulfiller of Scripture Prophecy of the Second Coming of the Christ for the Christian world and the Coming of the Messiah for the Jewish world. Rev. Divine became well-known to the public in 1931 while carrying on HIS Work and Mission in Sayville, Long Island, New York. The Rev. Divine’s Sermon subject was “Accentuate the positive to eliminate the negative.” Mercer said, “Wow, that’s a colorful phrase!” (according to John Gilliland, Pop Chronicles the 1940’s and Bob McKenzie, “40’s Sounds Return to Radio”). He went back to Hollywood and, together with songwriter Harold Arlen (“Over The Rainbow”), wrote “Ac-cent-tchu-ate The Positive”, which Mercer recorded himself with the Pied Pipers in 1945. It was also recorded by Bing Crosby with the Andrews Sisters that same year. Other artists recording the song include Ella Fitzgerald, Patti Page with Jo Stafford, Sam Cooke, Aretha Franklin, Bette Midler with Bing Crosby, Tami Gunden, Paul McCartney, Dr. John, Thomas Quasthoff with Till Bronner.

The Mills Brothers are one of the greatest singing groups of all times. “Paper Doll” has always been one of my favorite songs. No one can sing it like the Mills Brothers.

One need look no further than this video clip for evidence of Dean’s tremendous admiration and affection for Harry Mills. How fortunate Dean was to be able to perform with his greatest musical influence. It’s obvious he’s having a hell of a lot of fun!

As the song is about to begin, Harry has the look of a man holding a hand of five aces. He opens his mouth and out pours the gift of God. lol. I absolutely love this clip!

As much as Dean OWNED his show, you can see by his body language and the sheer joy on his face that he really loved performing with his heroes when they appeared on his show……

“Now Like Never Before is the TIME”

In praying to hear the  voice  of the Almighty for this message, He brought to me the words from Exodus 15:26 … “if you  will diligently  listen to the voice of   Yahweh your  Elohim and  do that which is right in His  eyes,  and will  give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have put on the Egyptians,  for I am  Yahweh  who heals you.”

We are all called to humble ourselves and seek  the Almighty  during this time of fear and confusion, that has… NOW…  swept the globe.

King David wrote in Psalms 27:1,  Yahweh  is my light and my salvation. Whom shall I fear?  Yahweh is the strength of my life; Of Whom shall I be afraid?

“Social distancing” makes us none the less an invincible force standing together!

“We are one” throughout these uncertain times… that are at this moment all facing in our generation.   We do need to be praying over each and every person  that will receive this message… for those blessings of health and safety for all  of our families and neighbors  around the Globe.

Let us use this time… NOW…  to pray and grow stronger in spiritual warfare.

As we agree in prayer, we can rest assured,  despite all challenges,  that Israel is tirelessly working towards finding a cure and continues to be the “light among the nations,”  which  is prophesied in Isaiah 49:6.  Join me in prayer that they will soon bless all nations with news of medical breakthroughs to come.

I am continuing to pray Psalm 91:9  “For You,  O Yahweh are my  refuge!”… over our family… and  for  all  peoples  all over the world.     D.V.

“NATIONAL KICK BUTTS DAY”

NATIONAL KICK BUTTS DAY – Changes Annually

NATIONAL KICK BUTTS DAY

National Kick Butts Day is a national day of activism that empowers youth to stand out, speak up and seize control against Big Tobacco.

The day not only empowers students to say no to tobacco but it also gives them the tools to become a tobacco-free generation. However, they cannot do it alone. They require the support and conversations of their families, teachers, and communities at large. These conversations include policies that prevent tobacco products targeted at youth. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, tobacco use by youth increased by 1.5 million users in 2018.

Around the United States, teachers, youth leaders, and health advocates organize events raising awareness and providing education for a tobacco-free lifestyle. The Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse is participating in this national awareness day in local schools through creative activities aimed at continuing conversations about healthy lifestyles.

For more information, visit www.cadasb.org about the programs of the Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse and www.kickbuttsday.org to learn more about National Kick Butts Day.

HOW TO OBSERVE #NationalKickButtsDay

How can you get involved?

  • Empower every generation to be tobacco-free, especially our youth. Build-up their leadership skills so they can be a tobacco-free and resistant generation.
  • Write to policymakers and make yourself heard.
  • Speak out and promote policies proven to reduce tobacco use and exposure to secondhand smoke.
  • Invite others to join you in raising awareness and to help protect kids.

Stand against tobacco and use #NationalKickButtsDay to post on social media.

NATIONAL KICK BUTTS DAY HISTORY

Kick Butts Day is organized by the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids and sponsored by the United Health Foundation. The first Kick Butts Day was held in 1995.
