Sep 12th “Birthday Memories!”

Today, I received my first – pre “BIRTHDAY Call Wish” for this year! This call was from my A- #1 Grand-daughter, Alyssa. Last,  Sunday we celebrated a little pre-Birthday with Grand-Parent’s Day – but when tomorrow gets here it will be official – Big Birthday Day – sure hope to be here? Alyssa suggested that I write memories of – that is some of the “BEST” memories of previous Birthdays – to share with everyone – or what the family might like to hear about?

When we lived in the Pine Lawn, Missouri area and our lives seem to be on top of the world – in as much as we three children knew – that was the place to have a “PARTY!” For me the eldest of three and the only girl – my Father invited everyone! My Father, did things like a Party – on a grand scale – He did the cooking and baking  and plenty to drink for adults as there  were just a couple of kids in the neighborhood that I played with. My brothers were both in the “baby play pen” and I on the old side and with all the adults  – we were blowing those noise-makers that had that extended blow-out  piece – that with plenty of your wind you could blow right into someone’s face! Which we all did!

With, WW II going on – and a big change in our living – we moved to North Saint Louis – and things really came down to a lower scale of living for everyone , but especially for us! My Birthday Party there, there were two names of playmates that lived on the same street that were invited Alice Thomas, who was always a regular at our house and across the street – two brothers Ronnie and Virgil Strunk and another girl across the street – cannot remember her name. This was a lower budget PARTY – but my Father – as a CHEF by trade – did the cooking and baking and the “ICE CREAM Store was on the next block. I was the one to run down the block to the Rexall Drug – for the hand packed ice-cream. Alice Thomas was my “TAG-a-long” friend who would go with me – running and back again!

Another “BIRTHDAY” – this is when I was in the “ORPHANAGE” and SEVENTH GRADE. My Aunt Irene Riley – one the world’s best bakers  – best at a lot of the domestic stuff – decided to have a Party for the 7^th grade class  and was allowed to have access to the dining room  – where my brothers and I had our meals. In all the years- that I was in the “Orphanage” – no other child had – had such an occasion to celebrate with class-mates and family. One of my class-mates, Jeanne Seattle – her aunt – Aunt Mary Kreutzer drove my Aunt Irene with all of the party stuff – cake and ice cream – the most important things. The reason Jeanne Seattle’s Aunt Mary did the driving is that the, “Aunts are cousins” and of the same age – besides being good old friends. The kids in the Orphanage did not know the Jeanne and I were related.

If it is your “BIRTHDAY” – dear “READER” – “Congratulations and Happy Birthday” – I always tell everyone that I think – that the – 13th of September – is the best day of the year to have your “Birthday!” “What do you think?”

Sep 11th “Are You SAFE – Today?”

September 11^th, 2001 – You know where you – were!  –  Were you, “SAFE?”  “Do you feel more “SAFE” – today?” Where is a really safe place for anyone to be and at anytime and anywhere at all in the world – today? Is our world safe?  Can anyone make it safe and how?

Do you have questions about today? Did you start to think last night about what you and your family would be doing – TODAY? Do more people think about what is really important and what if anything – can any of us do something worthwhile – that is when it comes to making this a safer enviourment for our families to live?

Years ago – the media was telling us to set up a plan for our family – have a location – planned where we each would go to if and when anything serious happened in this country? Store extra items that we would need – just in case all utilities were off – food stuffs and bottles of water – batteries and portable radios – a medical kit – blankets and warm wear for events that could happen in cold weather and or the colder climates where a good number of Americans live.

Another thing is to set up a “Family Secret Code System” – since the possibility would be that we could all be at different locations and be without a way to meet at the designated location – and if some type of public address system was temporarily set up – we could participate by putting in our “CODE” – so that someone in our family would hear and or see the “CODE” and be able to respond with their co-ordinates – thereby making a safe connection for us to meet. With today’s’ easy access to one another with “CELL PHONES”  – there is the thought with most people that  – that connection with others will always be available with the “CELL PHONES” – and no thought is given – to what if? “NOTHING WORKS!”

It really is a shame that we are not ready for “PEACE” – and the reason for me thinking that – is that we are  – all of us – are always prepared for and always getting ready for “WAR!” So, with the attitude that “WAR” is what we want and we are ready for it – because we are always building up for everything and anything that can wipe us all off the face of the map – and something “FAST” – that is what will happen and we will not be prepared! WAR has a way of sneaking up on us and catching us asleep – it did before and will again! History has way of repeating itself – “Live and Learn” – sometimes too late!

Right after “09-11-01” happened – what was the first thing you did? What was the first thing you saw on television – happening all around the “Target Zones” that were hit? AMERICAN PEOPLE started praying – praying in large groups all over every area – and in every STATE in this Country! Why, what for – was it too late to Pray? We all knew that, Almighty Yahweh answers prayers – where two or more are gathered in MY NAME there I am – – you will receive an answer!  “How soon we forget?”

Sep 10th Living Life – Leaving Legacy

What are you leaving – right now – what are your children learning from “YOUR LIFE” – as you go through your daily living? Will your children be learning about a “LOVE “for the Almighty Yahweh – so that as they grow older – they will follow in your footsteps?  Is the “LEGACY” of “LIFE” the one your family has planned for your children and their children and to be passed on from your generations through all of your generations?

Any questions that your children may have and come to you for help – do you go to your “BIBLE” for the answers – and do you show your children where to find the “TRUE” answers to all the problems – that all of us are confronted with – from time to time? Parents are watched more than anyone – starting the watching – is your families and next the babies – as they grow – you are being watched around the clock – and as the family grows – you have a full range of relatives – some like what you are doing and others let you know – in no way are they happy with anything that you are doing!

Something good for a young family  early on is to “SING” together and be together in family wholesome inspiring activities. One thing, a real must and very early – is to have prayers with the children – and letting the children see you pray.  Praying often and reading the Bible to the children – the stories in the Bible – that they like you to read to them – will last forever, I know, because my Mother would read to us gather around her and she would change her voice – and we would sit still for hours just listening.  One story I’ll never forget, is the one about the three men being sent to the fiery furnace – and she would read their names and the way she would read those names – something that I’ll never – ever forget!

If my Mother – reading to us – way back, then – and each of us loving it – I know that if you will also, read to your children and get the fires of “LOVE” for the “Word of Yahweh” and that if we all will keep in mind that the “HOLY SPIRIT” is sent to be in us as our guide through this life and to enter into eternity, forever – someday?

Leaving the children a very precious “Legacy” of LOVE” that lasts forever in their Hearts – now and forever. This Legacy of Love – is stamped on your ticket for entrance to Heaven!

Sep 9th “Is It The 13th – YET???”

“I’m sitting here and rocking  and rocking for a very long time – and nobody has told me – exactly – when should I be expecting the 13th day to be here?”  “You  – know that I know  – that on the 13th of September – everybody will be gathering to surprise  “ME”  with a Big “Birthday Party” –  “did I over hear  – correctly?”

You know that little children are to be seen and not heard from – and some little girls – should not be eaves-dropping and stop being  on the too nosy side ?!!   “WE want to “Surprise” you – and we will not say any more about a “BIRTHDAY PARTY” – because  – whenever we do what we are going to do  – you will just have to “WAIT” – like everybody else in  this world  – “YOU HAVE TO WAIT!” –  “OKAY?”

“I’m going to say “OKAY” – but , I have been waiting  – these last (75)  years – and I am getting too old  “JUST WAITING!”

Sep 8th Did you give “Thanks” yesterday?

What a wonderful day it was yesterday? I sure hope every “Grand-Parent” received a call and or a visit from the “Grand-children! The weather was really delightful – you could be very comfortable out of doors to enjoy any type of activity you and your family wanted to partake in. If you were in-doors – at least you could turn off the air-conditioner – and enjoy all the family with good foods and lots of time to enjoy just talking and catching up on all the things you almost always forget to do – at other types of get-togethers.

This was a “DAY” for me to be truly thankful and grateful for all the “Blessings that the “GOOD LORD” – decided to send my way – on my path that I am traveling.  Evidently, things that I thought I would do for my “LIFE’s Work” were changed and my “PATH” that I was on sometimes seem to me to be going the wrong way – but, now that I can take a look “BACK” – I can see that the “ALMIGHTY” had a “COURSE” for my “LIFE” and to arrive at this point with the “BLESSINGS” that I am now grateful for –  there were a few trials and tribulations along my  way to keep me on the correct course assigned just for “ME!”

We all have a “COURSE” to follow – but sometimes we feel that we have to take charge and do it our own way – and that’s what gets us into a pile of trials and tribulations to contend with – giving us the feeling we should just stop and give up? It was probably when I was in or near my 50’s that I was inspired to start – really “READING” the “BIBLE” and dig into it for all the knowledge that I needed to do the correct thing – to apply to my way of living and how I should be living and to give some of this information to my family – as it was increasing.

My belief, is that we have one  – True Creator that inspires us – but we all feel that we are in full charge of our-selves and that we don’t need anybody and no outside information – while we are in that stage of life, “NOTHING” will be accepted. We must go through the “School of Hard Knocks” – and will only learn the hard way. We all attend that school – at some point of time in our lives. (My Mother said that to me – a long time ago – pass it on!)

My children and grandchildren gave me a wonderful day, first it was Grand-Parent’s Day  celebrated with foods that I like and even a scratch made “Carrot Cake with Crème Cheese Icing” by  Jaime  – then we also did a little early celebrating  –  my Birthday on the 13^th – and then an Up-side Down Cake will be made – and to add special flare for me – an Added attraction – to be celebrated a new “HOLIDAY” on September 13^th – the “New American Day” – for all Americans to declare that they are good “Americans” – and they will stand up for America and display their “TRUE COLORS – RED – WHITE – BLUE” – pass it on Americans  –  start to celebrate on the 13^th that you are a “TRUE AMERICAN!”
