Read and make your comments known to the world – – Are things the way you like  them….now   or maybe  better than before or is there a better way to LIVE and share LOVE to our neighbors  – – every one has a good idea that just may make more sense if we could only share these good ideas???

You LEARNED from your parents and grandparents instead of disrespecting them and treating them as if they knew nothing. What they said might as well have been the gospel. When you were told to do something, you did not ask Why. YOU DID IT and Did IT IMMEDIATELY!!!
If someone had a fight, that’s what it was…a fist fight or Scuffle and you were back to being friends after. Kids didn’t have guns and never thought of taking a life, especially not their own. You had to be close enough to home to hear your Mom yelling to tell you it’s time to come home for dinner. And we ate around the dinner table and talked to each other!
School was MANDATORY. We had GOD, sang our National Anthem and said the Pledge of Allegiance every morning. We listened to our teachers and obeyed. We practiced fire drills where we marched outside in orderly fashion. Most Families attended Church somewhere on Sundays. We Dressed up for Church, it was GOD’s House so we wore our Sunday Best.
We were never “afraid” to go to school because of the thought of some screwball coming in. We held doors, carried groceries, didn’t expect our parents to hand us everything and gave up our seat without being asked to.
You didn’t hear curse words on the TV or in our home . “Please” and “Thank you” were part of our daily dialogue!
Re-post if you’re thankful for your childhood and will never forget where you came from! Wouldn’t it be nice if it were possible to get back to this way of life?
Copy & Paste. Don’t forget to change the name of the town to the one where you grew up!

Mary Ellen Aldrich “WOW” It is wonderful that someone else can remember what a better time we had way back there – I go back to the late 1930’s and I will post this for all of the old GRANDMAS and GRAMPS that remember – – and we did work for unity and love amongst our neighbors” *** *******
