Aug 4th “A picture is worth a thousand words”

This picture is of “Lee” only the very “Best Golfer” on the course, but and at the moment, just taking a short rest with his best “Golfing” buddy in Florida.

Back in 1961, when we were living in Fort Lauderdale, Florida – we operated three different restaurants, and when you would get a chance to play some “Golf” – you would for sure, take the time.

“Lee” is on the left, in this PHOTO, and still wearing his white “Chef-Cooking” clothes as we had just left this one restautant, where “Lee” was doing some of the cooking.

On the right is “Dan” also a “CHEF” at the restaurant, but works a different shift. There are so many things that you can do on your “off-hours” and, these two men like “Golfing” and the “Race Tracks” and since, I was able to be at the restaurant – was able to go along with “Lee” and take a few PHOTOS.

Back then, I did not take my camera with me as often as I – “now thinking back,” on the short time, that we had “LEE” with us. Today, everyone that has a “Cell Phone” has a camera – and can catch PHOTOS of everything – and if they are for “keepers” – have them on their “web-sites” – where as back when, I was taking these photos, with the price of film and carring a camera around – “who did it?”

But, thinking back, I sure am glad that I caught a few pictures, here and there – a few old PHOTOS help to keep small activies alive, and in the mind – something to actually remember better – as you can see the “faces” of the people – and a “face” can tell you so much about, what was going on. The old Photos also help to jog up memories, helping bring to mind, some of the things that could have almost been forgotten – but, that Photo just hits the spot in this ole brain – helping to put together all the missing parts of the puzzle – back onto the front burner!

Today, here in Saint Louis, the weather seems to be just as in the PHOTO of “yester-year” – just a wonderful day to get out on the old “Golf-Course” and hit a couple of balls – maybe even in a straight line? “Just LOVE to call out, when ever, I get a chance, “FOUR” – seems that, I still have that strong enough voice for just some words, so “nice and clear again” and just for effect, “FOUR!”

Guess it will be a few more years to wait and see, if there is the possibility for all of us – to go back out on to a real nice “Golf-COURSE” – but, if and when, I am going to take much better PHOTOS and many more – while I am at it! D.V.
