“Call Mother Today!”

It’s not too late to call “Mother” today!

Almost seems like a hundred years ago… when I did work at good old “Southwestern Bell Telephone Co.” !

This SUNDAY, will be “Mother’s Day”… which was and still will always be… the #1 day for all telephones being used, to make that extra special call… to the most important and best of all people on this earth, to your Mother, just the very BEST and only Mother… that you will ever receive from our great Creator, himself!

Back in that day… when I was working back then as a “telephone operator” – the best way for an “Operator” to make the most money in a short time span, would be to work for some other “OPERATOR” who just had to have “Mother’s Day” off, especially if ” YOU” had already worked the previous two “Sundays.”

Three “Sundays” worked in a row, was that chance that not too many “OPERATORS” would be thinking of because…. so many workers were expected to be “HOME with their Family” on that day, and were not thinking of making that extra dollar!

The best part of working as an “OPERATOR” was that “OPERATORS” were needed for the full 24 hours… that day.

During the work day, there are some shifts that are for a full eight hours, and some of the working shifts were for less than the full eight hours, but you were still paid for the full eight hours!

So, when you think about changing hours, there was always a way to make your working hours work, so that at the end of the day, you and the person that you traded with … were HAPPY for the trade in hours!

So the terrific deal was, and if at all possible would be the best of deals “money Making wise” is that you would now received three times your pay rate for that day. Not a bad paycheck for you to take home that week!

While thinking about working at the “Telephone Co.” just have to add a couple of statements for all those that do not know, but if you wanted to ask me about telephone working… talking about and for so many years ago.

I do believe that I am the only person that has worked for the Telephone Co., for five (5) different times. I did work for a few years and then found that I wanted to try something different and after a few years called up and was rehired.

For the record I was on the job every day when assigned and would work any and all overtime … never late and never absent is what the Employer wants and that was the way I believe you are to do.

You are your WORKING record… if you can be there whenever and always on time… you have it made in the shade!

So… Now getting back to MOM… if you are not going to be with your “MOM” … today – CALL!

Also, if your “Grandma” is still here on earth, don’t let the day end … Your “Grandma” will really appreciate that extra special call from you.

Calls to your “Grandma” are worth more than a million dollars to her!

“I said so, and you can tell her I said so… so hurry and do that which I tell you to do… NOW!”
