Kid’s Song, con’td.

In  1967-1968,  I was working  10pm/7am shift,  for the Telephone Co.,  because you would receive extra pay for the late hours and could park free,  right behind the building. You would be surprised with the amount of phone traffic during the night, requiring a lot of operators.

But, one night, it was on the quite side and  ‘Big Mary’,  an operator for a good many years, and an entertainer on the side, partaking with a group  that did entertaining for the men and women in the service,  at near and surrounding  Military Facilities – started  up one of her sing/song routines.

So,  I chimed in with “Mairzy Doats”,  and thinking I’m singing the right words, and then,  telling of my Aunt Irene, teaching my brothers and  me,  shortly after it came out in the 1940’s.

“Big Mary“, ask me if I really ‘knew’??, the real words or what I was saying?? Of course I had no idea —   So, all this time since the 1940’s, till  this night , I was clueless, about  the Mares. Goats  and Oats?

“ONE”, that would be , “ME”, is still never to old to , learn a lesson!
