“Who is “Dumb Dora?”

Another old memory of words and or names – heard so many times during my childhood and really never knowing “who” is being talked about. When I was a very young small “kid” – one of the first things I was told – “you are to be seen and not heard from!” That message was load and clear and even when my brothers came on the scene – guess what – I was my brothers’ keeper – in that I should make sure we “kids” were only seen and not heard from!

So, today when I am in error of doing something “DUMB” – the first thing out of my mouth is – When “Dora” was” Dumb” she was really “Dumb!” I feel like – at that moment I’m letting whoever is around, that I surely made a nice mistake and probably a huge mistake! I’m guessing that when others hear “Dumb Dora” – they are wondering who in the heck is “Dumb Dora” anyway?

When I was hearing some conversation and then “Dumb Dora” would be exclaimed so loudly – that it came across that someone sure caused a major blunder of some kind – and now – the end of the world was ready to hit – full force!

Today – I hear myself say “Dumb Dora” –“when she was dumb – she is so dumb she takes a “Cheesecake!” I tell my family that – that means that I really don’t know what I’m doing and I’m saying something silly – instead of saying  something offensive and when I was a grade school kid in a Catholic  school the Nuns would not allow language offensive. In other words – unless you like to have punishment work to do for the rest of your life – you did learn at a very young age – “NO Foul Language!”

Another thing the NUNS would always say – when they heard someone mouthing off – with words your ears are not allowed to hear –“You will be sorry for saying words like that, because when you are applying for a job – those words will come out of your mouth “accidently” and you will not get the job you want.” “There is no “Employer” for any worthwhile job on this planet – that will want to hire you!”  (I am glad that the NUNS said that about employers.)

I have no idea “who” or “why” for the “Dumb Dora” – but at least – you do keep friends with decent words – and you are not told that you have a “Trashy Mouth!”
