“Ground Hogs and Eagles”

Yesterday was “Groundhogs’ Day” – that was February 2nd and also my Father’s Birthday! To be born on the day that has so much attention given to it  – “Groundhog’s Day” – just seem to make my Dad a very “HAPPY CAMPER” – as he would always refer to his “Birthday and the Groundhog’s Day” – all in the same breath!

Well, we have an old “Groundhog” that lives on the far end of our property. This old “Groundhog” comes up close to the house from time to time – looking for something to eat – or maybe  the leftovers – from what the “SUNSET CAT” might leave? The “SUNSET CAT” is the original “finicky cat” if  ever –  I seen one? If what I put out for her does not have salmon and or even a whiff of salmon – she will give me a dirty look –turn her back to me and meander along the fence and fly over the fence so fast – it is almost as if she sprouts “WINGS!”

Talking about “WINGS” – This is the time of the year for us to watch the “EAGLES – FLY BY” like nothing else in this world; so – what is the best word to use – wonderful – marvelous – breath-taking – or to just give “THANKS to the ALMIGHTY” – for the grandeur that we receive in watching the grandeur and delight of this gift to our eyes to indulge in!

Along the Missouri River – for this special time – it is like watching an extra special movie – just for your eyes to enjoy. At this point – the river is coming up and out of the NORTH and does a winding and  some curving to a WEST direction.  The “EAGLES” follow along the river –  and are  diving and then slowing –  giving a second look at what will serve as their meal for this day. Watching all of their flight in progress  – is what the men who first developed the first “FLYING MACHINES”  did – then  did their designing from the perfect movements that these “EAGLES” were performing. They fly with such ease and grace in each and every movement and  – with each turn – the “WATCHER” can only dream of maybe – someday –  doing the same!

These words came to me – “They shall mount up with “WINGS” like “EAGLES”; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint” – from IS 40:31” and also – I remember that the song “WINGS of an Eagle” – having heard at Church and also several well known singers –  it does a wonderful job for the ears and  the whole body – and while listening to the song with the words – helps to bring down the high blood pressure numbers – in such a short time.

I have to declare  – that the gifts from the Almighty – all of those wonderful gifts –  just  for our five (5) senses to enjoy  – — are to me – “GOOD MEDICINE!”
