“The GAME to PLAY – TODAY!”

Today – of all the days – this year to play a “BOARD GAME” – it’s TODAY! Just in case you are asking yourself – “Why in the world should I play a “BOARD GAME”, today?” – Well, let me tell you, “TODAY is the day in 1933 – the “MONOPOLY”  board game  was invented – and as a kid in the Orphanage – we played the game – and had hours and hours of “FUN” – young children like us, back then were learning. That’s what the “GAME” is all about, LEARNING!

This is my feeling about board games; there are a lot that I had purchased over the years for my children and when it came to selling our house and having garage sales – the game that was for sure a  very well used game – was the MONOPOLY GAME –  all the other “Board Games” were sold as NEW! After having that house 25 years – and it came to selling toys and the games and extra equipment from the horses, like saddles and tack and gear – I could see then-  and, that – was just in case I did not know it – – must  have the “MONOPOLY GAME”  always available –  as it is the game everyone enjoys  playing.

When the “MONOPOLY – Century of Flight – AVIATION Edition”– came out – we bought several for the business and I have one for our own enjoyment. If anyone is into FLYING – this is the EDITION to have for all  of the family to play. Your young people will love learning without even knowing that this is the best of “FUN EDUCATION” – and all at home with the family! Again, and this is my feeling – and that is you will be spending hours and hours – the parents and the children learning how to do business – buy and sell – concentrate on each of the other  players – as to who is buying property and who is having good luck on the board and who seems to be the loser and the big winner for this time.

When you are learning and helping the youngsters to get the hang of exploring new ideas of how to be aware of each of the movements on the board and how to then move quickly for the best strategy adventure of a young lifetime. Always making memories with your children is what the great adventure of LIFE is all about – and if you only sit in front of that obscene box – what memories will you and the family have to remember?

Just this last Christmas season, I was able to pick up a couple  of the MONOPOLY games – that are called “Schnuckopoly” – so called for the name of the “SCHNUCKS” chain of stores in Missouri. So, like all people when you have enough company over and some like to play games – well that is exactly what we did.

So, after a couple of hours of playing and the playing looked like it could continue into the “wee hours” – everyone decided to set a “TIME LIMIT”  – and so when the “TIMER” rang  – it was check out time. Everyone had to calculate their property values and add up their cash – then subtract cash to pay off their debts to the BANK and to some of the other players. Just the checking out – took some time to find this night’s  “WINNER.”  And just so that the “WINNER”  knew that he was the “WINNER” – the  “WINNER” would get to take home with him the new game of  “SCHNUCKS MONOPOLY!”

“HOW’s  that  for being the BIG “WINNER!”
