“What Happened???” | Grandma’s Stories

Apr 20th “What Happened???”

Did you notice that the weather took a dip in temperatures and along with that – lots of very heavy rains and winds. Those “winds” are so strong that – I heard something make an awful load noise… – took a look out a couple of windows – could not tell exactly … what – I could or should be looking for … so I just continued with some house cleaning that I was doing.

After a short time – notice – that my dust cloth needed to be taken out side and given a couple of good shakes – and with all that wind – getting cleaner air – the dust cloth got an extra shake or more – and then I noticed … the poor “bird house ” was blown down and the roof came off. Nothing more important to do – – but – make a perimeter check around – and – see if anything else was blown over… or down??

After looking around and continuing to give the dust-cloth some more shaking – this way and that – just thought – – – I’ll wait for Al, my son to come over and he can fix the poor old “BIRD” house – add a couple of nails or screws – whatever will hold it together – during these heavy “WIND” storms??? I’m guessing that being on the “bluff” and the very cold wind coming along with that nice cold and wet breeze from the Missouri River – everything and anything – that is not fastened down – good and tight – is going to land into some newer destination and or even a better and more favorable place – probably with new and better “care-givers?”

There is one thing that I have noticed over the last few years – and that is that I have collected too many things – – that I did not need when I bought them – and I sure as heck – do not need them now! So, this could be a good way to get rid of a surplus of stuff – just let those very strong winds carry “everything” away!

So, as busy – as I was…?? – And – now… all of a sudden – no noise – no music coming from the computer??? What ever happened?? The computer was off – and it is not starting up – again for me – oh well – – I’ll leave it off and check it out further, later?? I was thinking that maybe – I can do without any noise – but – then just thought is the electric off, too?? “NO!” – I checked by turning on a light switch – so guess this is going to take a little more time – just to see what the computer is or is not going – to do?

When you feel that the world is too quite – pick up the phone and call someone – see what is going on in their part of the world? Is everything connected in their world? They are fine and after talking for awhile – they suggest you should call the telephone company and let them figure it out – for you? So, that is what I did, I just hate to call the telephone company – it takes forever just talking to the machine – before you can ever talk to a person – evidently they do not have very many people working for them – no “bodies” – and so many people looking for work – go – figure???

Finally – someone to talk to… and – they have to connect me to someone else … and then they have to do some testing… – – This and that – and everything – or so I am told – is working – – working where… but not my computer – so the first thing I start to think is… – – I am not going to write anything – TODAY? “NO COMPUTER!”
Did you ever have such a day – that starts off …is cold, windy, and wet, and everything – in the whole world seems to be happening all at the wrong time – so – maybe I should go back to bed and maybe just try to start – this “DAY” – – all over, again??

“Tomorrow will be a “better” day!” – – I think I heard that in the movies???
