“Happy Earth Day” to One and All!

Apr 23rd “Happy Earth Day” to One and All!

This sure was – the “DAY” to be out and about! There must have been something special sprinkled into the air – all around the whole earth! Today was the DAY for me to be taken to a couple of different places – and the PEOPLE – each and every one must have had a dose of something special in their food or just in the “AIR” that – they were breathing – today!

Did anyone experience anything special about the reactions that they were receiving – as they met people – and or when they were doing something – today – – receive extra help and attention??

In the store that I was in: I was pushing my basket along and a lady noticed that – I had picked up a package of “SNICKERS” candy bars and since there was a store clerk near by – – I had ask the clerk, “DO the “Hersey Bars” – also – come with almonds?” – Her reply was – “NO. We do not have any.” Just that fast – this other lady said, “If you are looking for “ALMONDS” in CHOCOLATE” – this is the best candy bar – I buy these, myself – they are very good!” She was so helpful – so I ask her – “Do they come in a darker chocolate – as I like the darkest of chocolates!” –“Sorry, but – I have only seen them in the “Milk Chocolate!” – So I took a couple of these candy bars – which I shall be trying later, today!

Well, not too much further in this store and I was looking at the vegetables – and another lady asks me – “AM I IN YOUR WAY?” – “NO – if I thought that we would … collide – I would have said, something??” This lady saw me pickup some packages of the small carrots – and immediately came over real close – leaning her head even closer – as if – to tell me a secret – “These baby carrots taste so good if you – just dip them in this “salad” – dressing” – and – now the brand name escapes – me – guess that I just was not paying as much attention as I should have – – to all these helpful – People? And then – – and just in case – that I did not take notice of how exceptionally sweet and helpful – she was – she added “Just this morning I was reading a book telling about – “HOW TO BE – MORE – PATIENT” –“With everyone you meet!”

Then it seems to “dawn” on me – that – this “LADY” found her “target” to work on – TODAY! Looks like it was my DAY to get the full special – EARTH — DAY – of attention and kindness – more than I really needed??? She saw that I was looking at tomatoes and she said – “Let me find the “cherry tomatoes” that – they have on sale today” – and off she goes – but – I just take the ones on the vine – and put in my basket. So, there I am further away and I do see some packages of the “Cherry Tomatoes” and start to take a couple of the packages – and just so fast there she is – and with a – “NO! Those are not the ones on sale – – – those – are very expensive – they are “HOME GROWN” – You have to look very carefully at those packages!” Now there is another woman – looking at me and giving me her full – “TWO-CENTS” – worth – about looking more carefully at “what” I am buying – almost – thought my Mother or Aunt Irene – was right there next to me – – in that store – telling me how to shop – – just as if this was 1950’s???

This must have been my “LUCKY DAY” – I’ll bet that there are special people working for the store – that go around and help older people – whether they want help or not??? I’m guessing you are saying “WHY, would you think that?” “Because, when I was paying my bill … – the cashier is looking at me – as if I was the “QUEEN of ENGLAND” – and she says, “Did you find everything you were looking for?” She has such a nice smile – I almost thought – that she was also going to say – “For shopping here with us today” – – “YOU JUST WON…….” – – But, I just said – Seems – that – you were all out of the “cherry tomatoes” – the price was so good – – I just got here too late.. to buy???”
