Jun 3rd “MOM with Babies Fly-in…”

“Wow” – what a surprise – “almost thought – that with all the noise headed toward my back porch – something highly unusual was happening – and I had better get there and in a big hurry just to see what is going on?”

With so many “Birds” living in the trees surrounding me – and then at this time of the year – so many new babies born to all of these bird “FAMILIES” – nothing better in LIFE – than to show off your new babies to the “LANDLORD” – so that the “LANDLORD” will know that with all of these new hungry mouths to feed – – we are letting you know – NOW – to be prepared!

So, this is what it looked like to me. These new “BABIES” have lots to learn – first they are getting too big to just sit in the nest and take up room … so as much as “MAMA” LOVES you all – we are going to take up our “FLYING LESSONS” and in this nest everyone does as I say… so – when you get my push – you will fall out and just let the wind catch you as you spread those wings … and let me see what you are made of?

Be sure you are all listening to my directions… circle around and then in a westerly pattern of circles and on my call… “You all fly back to this nest!” “OKAY!” “OKAY??” – Now that you are all back… there are more “lessons” for you to learn! From this nest “your home base “ – take a gander – survey all the surroundings – take particular notice to that porch to our left – as that is the place you can always get a “FREE MEAL” – some real good food just for us special “BIRDS!” Also – remember “BIRD SEED” is compliments of the “LANDLORD!”

“Everybody listen up!” Just so you all know what we will be doing … I’m going to lead… so watch, follow, keep close and do exactly what I’m showing you – this way you will be able to land on that porch rail – make lots of noise and let the “LANDLORD” know – we are coming in to “EAT FREE” and we will be coming around for a “FREE” handout – just as often as we can!

“Ready … lets all drop out of this nest … follow me – here we go… first circle around – start your loudest chatter… chirping… even louder – we have to let them know we are coming in for a landing….Now that we are on the rail scream your loudest chirp … check all over for “FOOD” – “Follow me “BIRDS” – “You can now consider yourselves real live “FLYERS” – now let’s head for the nest!”

After the “BABY BIRDS” made their first “LIVE-DIVE” on to my porch rail and did a though check out for “FOOD” – “I have to award – all of them a “GOLD -STAR” on their report cards!” – When I was a kid… the “GOLD-STAR” on your report card was worth “fifteen cents” – can you imagine what that would be worth today?”

The “BIRDS” did such a wonderful job on performing their first lessons – today – I hear them – each one saying that they made the rank of being a “FIRST CLASS” – Bombardier – and … that – they plan on learning new lessons – each and every day! “OLD – MOM is saying – with the help of the Almighty – my “BABIES” will be some real “SMART” birds!”
