So You Sew Yourself?

In the 1950’s,  when I was in  High School,  I took three  (3)  semesters of sewing,   and if I say so  myself,   was wearing the clothes  I made. Decided to make a fitted Cape (reversible) for early  “Fall” weather.   Just the quick grab and go!

This particular evening,   the “Veiled Prophet” Parade  marches through  the  St.Louis area and my Father and Mother want me to go along,   as this night we were also going to see what was going on at   “Gaslight Square”.   Just make an evening  of checking out  as many places  that you hear  “everyone”  talking about and if the entertainment  is as good as advertised?

After finding a good place to park the car, hurry to  find a good location to watch the  “Parade” go by!  Finally in a very good viewing spot,  and the evening air  is just a little  on the “brisk” side  –  I maneuver my arms inside the “Cape”,  in such a way, that the “Cape” is tight and very close and I’m warm!  It wasn’t too long and I was just about   to open  the “Cape”,  as I was now  getting too warm,   when I  heard,  “Mom that woman doesn’t have any  arms!”  I  just stood like a statue!
