“NO THANKS!”… “PASS IT ON!”

Yesterday afternoon – when someone came to the door – wanting to sell to me … this “MOST”  up-to-date cable TV bundle – I had to just say…  “NO Thanks!”     Naturally when someone wants to sell you something – they did walk up to your front door – and somewhere in the neighborhood – they had their car parked – they do need to see if they can in any way – change your mind? They figure that you just said…  “NO” – but with just the right word – they might be able to change your mind? I did have a few minutes and the weather was beautiful – I did need a break – so I did listen to his prepared routine…  for a very  few minutes?

No sense in me letting the “SELLING” gab go on – so I had to just interrupt with, “I do not watch TV – I have no TV connection with any company.” “The reason I do not watch TV – there is nothing on that  is of any interest  to me – since I do not have forever to waste too much time foolishly.” I had to say also, “The programs you watch, must feel that the “WATCHERS” do not know how to take their clothes off and get in bed with some stranger!” “The other problem that I find wrong – is that almost all programs have to kill someone – and the use of  some language is totally offensive to me.”

It seems to me that all programs – no matter how innocent they start out – start with the 1st commandment and work their way all through – to the 10th commandment – just seeing how many times they can break each and every one – and just in case the audience is immune to some of the stuff – they continue to throw in all the extra trash – over and over again!

Within the first five minutes of a program  – if  for the same  above reasons, I  will just let everyone know -I have something better to do with my time! And I just leave! I do not go to the theatre   any  more – but – – and a long time ago… shortly after one “MOVIE” started –  I just had to walk out – and asked for the manager – and had to tell him…  that that movie  was strictly trash! We just walk out… why waste your time on trash?

Before the person standing at my door could leave – I said “If I take time to watch TV – I will not be able to read the “BIBLE” – and I have a whole list of people to pray for – how can I do what is really important to me… and for my FRIENDS?”

I could see that there was some doubt – so I said … “JUST A MINUTE” and I went inside and was back there with my “BIBLE” – “you see here’s my list of people to pray for and I’ll even add your name to my list – “What is your name?”     and  did add – “You can pray for me, too – and you will also  find that more of your prayers will be answered – like the Bible says – when two or more are gathered – their requests will be heard!” I feel that  I  just made a new  friend that will  start reading the word of the  ALMIGHTY!
