From the left is… Uncle Al and Aunt Thelma holding the dog that we just got for big brother, TOMMY… and standing with my arms full and stretching a mile… just to get into this PHOTO… that your FATHER is taking… and in my arms, this is our “baby LEE, Jr.” as he is also singing “HAPPY BIRTHDAY” as loud as only he can.
“Have the very best of BIRTHDAYS and Celebrate all week… I said so… it is “OKAY” to have… loads of Fun in the SUN Shine STATE of FLORIDA!”

“HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the DONALD”
Happy Birthday “Donnie”……… and many… many…..more…”
“Happy Birthday” Donald Lee Aldrich – and many more! This picture was taken in the early 1960’s – Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Could possibly be Donald’s 10th birthday party! One thing was for sure – if we were having a “birthday party” for any one of the children – all the kids in the neighborhood – would kindly invite their selves! – Most of the boys in Donald’s Cub Scout group were at our house each week for their “weekly… BOY- SCOUT ” – meeting – and we always managed to have fun that involved each of the boys and for parties – there was always prizes for each of the games, played! With our restaurants – there was never a shortage of good food to be served – sometimes we even had the party at one of our restaurants.
In the above picture – Donald is the boy near the window and it seems that just too much “FLORIDA SUNSHINE” in beaming in – so that his balloon seems to be almost invisible? This could be – possibly one of the games – the boys are doing – have no idea what my game plan was… back then – but as you can see they were blowing for whatever the prize will be?
Sorry – that I do not have a note as to the ‘friend’ of Donald’s – – his name is not on the back of this picture – but… I do believe that he lived across the street and down a couple houses – on the Lake Melba side!
One good thing about having our “SCOUT MEETINGS” at our house – – the children did not need rides to our house – – as their SCHOOL was across the other side of our home – – and everyone would be within a very short walking distance. Seems that all the boys in our group just lived a block or two – in either direction… all within walking distance.
