“Ellen Bishop”

img180

These pictures were in the box with a lot of other  and older pictures – 1930’s – and that is  only “me” guessing?? The only thing that I know for sure is that “ELLEN BISHOP”  is the  little girl in the center of the picture on the left and “ELLEN BISHOP” in on the right of the four girls   – that is the picture on the right.

These pictures belong to “MARIE BRADY” – as it was in her handwriting   on the back saying –  ” Ellen Bishop in the center!” This could be a  relatives  gathering,  “the Bishop Family inviting the Brady Family”  to a maybe Birthday Party for little Ellen Bishop – –  as she is dressed for a party  and the other little girls look like they are doing what is generally  done – at a party –  standing around and having your picture taken – whether  –  –  you are ready or not?

What caught my eye was the new shoes on Ellen Bishop? Those beautiful new white and so  very clean shoes and  the  new white socks  with lace – – and then the legs are so thin and the poise and pose  – reminds me of girls who take dancing lessons – and when ever they are just standing around – almost always stand as if and  from any direction – someone could be snapping a photo – and anyone in the know – knows… always stand as if this photo is to be sent to the Saint Louis Post-Dispatch Newspaper – and  a story with this photo  will look beautiful  – on the front page?

“That’s my best   guess” –    “What do you think?”
