Jun 4th “It is as “YOU” Wish”

If you were reading yesterday’s story where I got carried away with the “Ration Stamps” as they were needed to buy most of what “Americans” wanted and needed during the WWII effort, – here is where I’ll try to continue my other thoughts of the a story I’ve heard – in different ways?

There was in the state of Tennessee, an old hermit that lived on the top of a mountain – and he was consider to be a very wise old man. Evidently , people would go to this old hermit in his shack and inquire of information. And he being an older and wiser person would always give the correct information to those asking for help.

Well, as it always is, and always will be – there are those who have no good intentions, in most of what they do and usually so seek to ruin and destroy the “good name ” and or “reputation” of someone who would be consider highly “worthy” of a normally good existence, here on earth.

On this particular day, some real “scallywag” and “friends” decided to change this old hermit’s reputation – because in their devious minds, they had a wicked plan that no matter what the answers would be from the old hermit – they could cause his answer to be untrue. Their scheme was to be “fool-proof!”

This boy caught a bird in his hands and told his friends that – he would be holding the bird, tight in his hands – and when he would ask the old hermit – “is this bird alive, or is it dead?” If the hermit answers “dead ” – ” I will let it fly away” and if the hermit answers “alive” – “I will crush it and show him a dead bird.” So, the boys went and ask the old hermit – and the old hermit must have really been very wise – knowing exactly what type of conniving ‘boys’ these were – the old hermit – answered – “It is as YOU wish!”
