“High School to College and Work”

When you start a program that includes WORK and you can also arrange those WORK hours, so that you can finish your few missing credits for HIGH SCHOOL – What is wrong with also trying out … for COLLEGE, too?

Once you are able to get yourself set into a system that will work together… some School and with a full day at Work… may as well … like they say, “Give it the OLD College try”

When that works… may as well see, what else works… just try to continue it… and just go on up the ladder.

“Others have done it – YOU can, too!”

So, now that I am tinkling way on back, I did think that I wanted to be a “TEACHER” and since I was young and had my whole LIFE – ahead, started checking out the different “Schools” for the course and what the costs would be?

For some reason or the other, someone in management with the Telephone Co., ask me about and inquired what exactly would be my “plans” for the future, were they set or was there a possibly, would there be even a thought, to go up the ladder at work, and if so, that the “Telephone Co.” would like to help out, by paying for the courses that would be pertaining to the usefulness of my being more “Telephone Business” minded!

Maybe, I should have taken them up with their plan… for a more “Business” rounded course of study… and letting them pick up the tab… for some of what I would be doing?

But, and since I had heard so much about my MOTHER not getting to be a “TEACHER for Kindergarten” … since her parents had planned on her taking care of them … when the time came, so… she could not be away from HOME for long parts of the day… since they may have need of her special care, and “WHO” else was there in those days, for them, to depend on … and without interruption?

Sometimes some PLANS have to be put on the ‘back-burner’ just to see what is and what is not available and good for maybe the long run of time, to come?

When you are young there are so many things, that one might want to do – but until you go, get out there and try a thing or two, all on your own – “HOW do YOU, know, what the best “fit” is for your LIFE?”

The Schools were narrowed down to the “Harris Teachers’ College” – in mid City and close enough for me to make the “Bus and Street-car” connections and then also get home for study and then… to bed and then followed by … my working all night.

Have to… give Thanks to the Almighty Creator – the ONE that has a plan for all of us – and so far – I think that, I have done most of what I should have – as I feel that… I have received so many extra “BLESSINGS” – all along the way for my whole LIFE. D.V.
