Nov 1st “Boy Scouts – St. Vincent’s – 1947”

In 1947 – I was only at St. Vincent’s for maybe two years and at my age only saw my brothers when we had our meals, together. If you are in this photo – let me know???

I thought that maybe one of “FACES” of these good looking “SCOUTS” would stand out – as to someone or something that I remembered – but nothing comes to mind?? Also, can not remember my brothers asking to join the “SCOUTS” – and if they were still active – when we were there – I’m surprised that neither one wanted to join – and have fun making all the things that “Scouts” get involved in making and in doing? Also, am wondering if the “Scout Troupe” went on “outside” the Orphanage – for field trips and even met with other active Troupes in the surrounding areas??? Usually all the “SCOUTS” meet in a large facility and meet and plan for the next big activity that all the Scouts – united – will maybe making money for some good and worthy cause??

My questions are – because – the groups of Scouts that I had – we would meet at my house and do a lot of things – directions from their Scout manual, together but once a month we would meet at the local school for the awarding of their badges – and planning big tasks for the future! Also, and this is a guess – I would take my group on tour of some of the important “COMPANIES” – to see how things are made and for the boys to have fun in their uniforms – seeing how adults work and for my group of boys to be seen dressed – so nicely in their uniforms – actually “Promoting Good Scouting!”
