“Ask early to Receive!”

Since this is the beginning of  this –  “NEW YEAR” – something that most of us – maybe 25 to 30 years ago – would have been reading – the book called – “A Prayer of Jabez!” Last evening seems that I had  been half way hearing a little something  –  about the “Jabez”  – – – was not paying a whole lot of attention – so, today – I had to re-read  “I Chronicles 4:9-10” just to be sure of what  type of “PRAYER” Jabez – had made.

Just in case anyone is interested – thought I would give a short version;  “Jabez was more honorable than his brethren …his Mother gave Jabez his name since she bore him with sorrow… — Jabez cried to the  Elohim of Israel saying,  “OH, that you would bless me, indeed… and enlarge my borders and that Your hand might be with me… and You would keep me from evil… that it is not my sorrow!   And – Elohim granted him that which he requested!

What I had heard, last night was the emphasizing of the word “INDEED” as it was used in the Prayer. The word “INDEED” – is a word that could mean that Jabez was confirming –  then and there as he was praying  – that his prayer was sincere and that he was putting all of his sincere hope and trust in  the Elohim,   that would grant and answer. There just was no doubt in Jabez’s mind that what he was requesting in his short and to the point  prayer – of his needs – which he would fully receive.

In using the word “INDEED” –   a stronger word – taking the place of several words – such as – “I very much would like for you to bless me” – that  “ONE” strong word – works so much better than a whole long stream of little and less powerful type words. So,  in  reading  the words as Jabez used in his request for his needs –  to be taken care of at the time of his great  need – it would seem that  – that was  exactly what everyone was doing – so many years ago – when the book was selling  so strongly –  – even I have the book! (somewhere???)

In this new beginning of this – “NEW YEAR” – when so many of us in America  – have so many needs – that need to be taken care of – almost too many needs –  for me to go into – but  you name it and someone is indeed in need!

So, when you are in “NEED” – who better to go to –  than the Almighty – because we all know that He can answer our prayers –  and who is our best of all friends? That would be “JESUS!”

“A friend in need… is a friend “INDEED!”
