“A STORY…that needs to be told…for FUN!”
“Once upon a time…”
Well that is how most “Stories” start… but this is a story that I had heard on the radio the other day – – and thought I would try to remember it as best as I could to see if others thought it had potential???
Stories are really good…when you have the audience in front of you…and you can change your voice and use all the movements of the hands and body to keep the audience … hanging on to your every word.
Chuck Swindoll – on the broadcast “Insight for Living” – said that – – there are some “Stories” that one just can never forget – – – just something to them…that whenever you think about them… you just have to chuckle.
He said that as he and a coach friend, from one of the ball teams were talking – – that the coach had to just tell him this story – – about a neighbor and he would call him… FRANK.
One morning when FRANK was just looking out the windows at the entrance of his home – – admiring the wonderful weather …and then saw his wonderful dog…a golden Labrador retriever – – just standing at the foot of his steps…their eyes meeting…the dog so proud, he now had his mouth holding a dead rabbit.
FRANK… immediately had a sinking feeling in his stomach… that prize in his dog’s mouth…was the next door neighbor’s “PET RABBIT” – this is something… that just can not be happening! FRANK ran out to the dog – – so fast… grabbing the rabbit and hoping that no one has seen this rabbit in his dog’s mouth … heads straight for the kitchen.
NOW…holding the rabbit under the water…washing off all of the dirt and blood and gunk that was attached – – – giving this dead rabbit a thoroughly good cleaning and then following with a blow dryer – – to fluff up all the fur – enough to make it …the rabbit …to look at least half…alive??
So…that night when it was nice and dark and it looked like nothing stirring out side… FRANK crawled over the fence… than crawling along the ground to the neighbor’s small fenced in area with a house for the rabbit – – – FRANK very carefully placed the dead rabbit near it’s house. Then FRANK quietly and just as carefully crawled out of and over the fence of the neighbor. He was hoping that – – this was the end of this nightmare!
Bright and early the next morning – the neighbor is banging on the front door of FRANK’s house!
FRANK is nervous …but he opens the door The neighbor start wailing about …”There is a “SICK -O” – – in our neighborhood…we have to find out who this “SICK-O” is???” “Three days ago my “PET RABBIT” died – and I buried it!” “NOW…this morning I find our “PET RABBIT” has been dug up …all cleaned up and placed back in it’s pen?” – “What… in the world is going on… in our neighborhood???”
While I was listening to Chuck Swindoll tell this story – just thought that I would pass it on – – it kind of leaves you with some thinking to do – but for a story – it does keep you listening!
