“Daddy takes care of his ‘Babies’!”

img182

Everybody has some kind of   “chores” that just have to be done daily, – but when you have  horses and other farm animals – you will always have some new born “BABIES” – and you know  – when there are babies – they need your time and attention  24/7.

The above picture –  Lee is taking care  of “Mama Valentine”  and  her little new born baby “Rain-Bow”  is so close to her MAMA – it is almost as if she is in the arms of  her MAMA – gently snuggling under and around MAMA’s legs! It sure is a miracle that horses know just what to do on their own – the whole deal of being born and then the baby knows just where to get milk and that to keep close to MAMA – is the best and safer of places to be for all the protection she will need – until MAMA teaches her baby the  ropes  of LIFE – what to do and when and where!

Lee has always had horses – his first was when Lee was  nine or ten years old  –  it  was a pony which was due to have a foul  and then  later a “Buckskin” – that was ready to go and the rider sure better be ready for a “ride” – that you will not forget soon, afterwards? When you have your own horse and that goes for any other animals – Lee had to feed   his horse and  his brother,Al  – had to feed his horse and then the dogs  and cats and then  for awhile we even had rabbits  and all these animals had to be taken care of  –  before going to school.

So, when you have all these animals – the chores continue when you get home from school – the  best part of cleaning  – is the extra work on the stalls and preparing for the evening and also, the tack needs care – especially  after you ride with your friends. And  – there is  nothing like completing the day  with your music lessons and practice and your homework  for school – must be done . Sure can not have a horse – if you can not keep up with school work and studies  – “Lot of Learning  and always the care of the LOVE of your LIFE –  –  your favorite animal!”

“Pretty as a Picture”

img181

This is my youngest Grand-Child, “Little Miss Jaime” and her age is just two years old on this picture.

As I was looking at this photo of “JAIME” – I just got to thinking – “What would little “JAIME” be thinking of, while these photos were being taken – as I have several of the photos in this dress –  in different poses and also with her big sister “Alyssa”?? Looks like “JAIME” might being wearing her favorite color  – in a dress that is so beautiful – this could be her “BIRTHDAY PARTY” dress  and she could be thinking of having all of her Friends and Family over for a big party celebration?

Just thinking how “BLESSED” I am to be little Miss Jaime’s Grandma – and thankful to be able to see Miss Jaime get ready for  her  Wedding,  next month  and  then, this weekend I have been invited to a shower for my beautiful and tall Miss Jaime  – and soon I will be addressing her  – “Mrs.”  Jaime – as she is not just a little girl, any more! To be able to live long enough  to see your own children’s children and that they are able to continue in a LIFE – that we as parents pray daily – that our children and each generation will have a better LIFE and always as the Almighty Yahweh has predestined  for them!

My most important mission in LIFE is to convey to everyone especially  –  FAMILY  – that  is in our times in this world  – today – we must “PRAY” daily and often –  –  there just isn’t anything more important for this generation to know and remember and to do!!!!

“GONE FISHING!”

img066

“Did you read the sign on the door?’  “We plan on being down at the old  “Farmer’s Fishing Hole” – and we will not be back home – until we get every fish  – willing to take a bite on my line!”

“That’s my big brother  “LEE” on my left – looks like he sees some fish coming in near the pier – so if we are really quiet  – just maybe,  we will be doing what we are suppose to do – and that is to catch some fish!” “I think that I heard “MOM” say as we were leaving   home — “Don’t come back , until you caught  enough fish for me  to fry  – for our dinner  – as we  each  would like a whole  fish, tonight!”

“I was beginning to wonder if anybody along the bank,  has had any “LUCK”  catching fish – as I sure didn’t hear any excitement???”  “I am sure that  –  I would have heard some kind of a commotion as they pulled the poor fish in – and then had to put more bait on their pole??”  “The other thing, that I was thinking about – -was,   what kind of bait are they using and is it fresh  – and or do they know what they are doing?”

“As you can see –  I am the  small fry of the Aldrich’s that are trying to catch a good size fish – at least something for my supper – sure do not want to hear that I did not do my part??”   “Sometimes when we do not have “LUCK” catching fish – my “DAD” will stop by his restaurant and get us enough fish – and then “MOM” does not have to cook a big meal – we all can just  help to set the table and enjoy a big fish dinner – and more than likely “MOM” will surprise us with one of her favorite desserts!” “Everybody just loves the desserts that “MOM” makes – she always does such a terrific job!”

“Happy Birthday” Violet Lessor!

Violet Lessor 001

“Happy Birthday Violet… Happy Birthday to you.. and many more…

Violet is the lady on the left  – and a good friend of the Aldrich Family, Lee, Al, Jill, Alyssa and Jaime – and you know who is in the middle, ME!

This picture was taken as we  were leaving Church  – –  as there is a bulletin board on the wall in the foyer or entrance area – and just so you  and or visitors can get to know what some of the people look like and their names  – you will find photos  as well as the above photo  “ours” on display  – that makes it easier for you to have the name of the person or family that you would want to  meet and talk to   – makes for an easy introduction  – – while all the members meet and usually enjoy a breakfast or lurch – depending on the times and what is going on.

This was a very friendly Church  – with members taking part in a lot of the different programs and or teachings which were  made available in the evening hours.  Always lots of activities to keep you active in the Church – and I knew that this was not Violet’s regular Church – but I thought that she would enjoy going with our family and  – if there was ever a time that she would like for us to pick her up – and bring her – that was something that we enjoyed doing.

When  you are going to Church on a regular time frame – I just feel that it is a good idea to check with “Neighbors”  – just to see if there is someone in or around the neighborhood that would also like to attend. So many of our friends and neighbors are senior citizens and no longer drive – and sometimes have no way to attend a Church  – but so very much would like to be included – –  – but are embarrassed to ask for the opportunity to go with you –  – but  would say   “yes”  – if ever someone would just ask them??

When you are talking with friends – – include in the conversation  – some things that you are doing – activity and or Church attending – when and where and how you feel about what you are doing  – then ask the person  that you are talking to – “Would you like to go, sometime??  Then follow up with – “I’d like to take you along with us and if you need – we will pick you up on the way and bring you home?”  Tell them to just think about the Church or  whatever they are interested in – and add. – “If you are not ready right now,  just think about it, here is my phone number – just call me anytime  – the offer  still stands  – for as long as  you want to think about it?”  “OKAY?”  “OKAY!”

“Ellen Bishop”

img180

These pictures were in the box with a lot of other  and older pictures – 1930’s – and that is  only “me” guessing?? The only thing that I know for sure is that “ELLEN BISHOP”  is the  little girl in the center of the picture on the left and “ELLEN BISHOP” in on the right of the four girls   – that is the picture on the right.

These pictures belong to “MARIE BRADY” – as it was in her handwriting   on the back saying –  ” Ellen Bishop in the center!” This could be a  relatives  gathering,  “the Bishop Family inviting the Brady Family”  to a maybe Birthday Party for little Ellen Bishop – –  as she is dressed for a party  and the other little girls look like they are doing what is generally  done – at a party –  standing around and having your picture taken – whether  –  –  you are ready or not?

What caught my eye was the new shoes on Ellen Bishop? Those beautiful new white and so  very clean shoes and  the  new white socks  with lace – – and then the legs are so thin and the poise and pose  – reminds me of girls who take dancing lessons – and when ever they are just standing around – almost always stand as if and  from any direction – someone could be snapping a photo – and anyone in the know – knows… always stand as if this photo is to be sent to the Saint Louis Post-Dispatch Newspaper – and  a story with this photo  will look beautiful  – on the front page?

“That’s my best   guess” –    “What do you think?”

“The GAME to PLAY – TODAY!”

Today – of all the days – this year to play a “BOARD GAME” – it’s TODAY! Just in case you are asking yourself – “Why in the world should I play a “BOARD GAME”, today?” – Well, let me tell you, “TODAY is the day in 1933 – the “MONOPOLY”  board game  was invented – and as a kid in the Orphanage – we played the game – and had hours and hours of “FUN” – young children like us, back then were learning. That’s what the “GAME” is all about, LEARNING!

This is my feeling about board games; there are a lot that I had purchased over the years for my children and when it came to selling our house and having garage sales – the game that was for sure a  very well used game – was the MONOPOLY GAME –  all the other “Board Games” were sold as NEW! After having that house 25 years – and it came to selling toys and the games and extra equipment from the horses, like saddles and tack and gear – I could see then-  and, that – was just in case I did not know it – – must  have the “MONOPOLY GAME”  always available –  as it is the game everyone enjoys  playing.

When the “MONOPOLY – Century of Flight – AVIATION Edition”– came out – we bought several for the business and I have one for our own enjoyment. If anyone is into FLYING – this is the EDITION to have for all  of the family to play. Your young people will love learning without even knowing that this is the best of “FUN EDUCATION” – and all at home with the family! Again, and this is my feeling – and that is you will be spending hours and hours – the parents and the children learning how to do business – buy and sell – concentrate on each of the other  players – as to who is buying property and who is having good luck on the board and who seems to be the loser and the big winner for this time.

When you are learning and helping the youngsters to get the hang of exploring new ideas of how to be aware of each of the movements on the board and how to then move quickly for the best strategy adventure of a young lifetime. Always making memories with your children is what the great adventure of LIFE is all about – and if you only sit in front of that obscene box – what memories will you and the family have to remember?

Just this last Christmas season, I was able to pick up a couple  of the MONOPOLY games – that are called “Schnuckopoly” – so called for the name of the “SCHNUCKS” chain of stores in Missouri. So, like all people when you have enough company over and some like to play games – well that is exactly what we did.

So, after a couple of hours of playing and the playing looked like it could continue into the “wee hours” – everyone decided to set a “TIME LIMIT”  – and so when the “TIMER” rang  – it was check out time. Everyone had to calculate their property values and add up their cash – then subtract cash to pay off their debts to the BANK and to some of the other players. Just the checking out – took some time to find this night’s  “WINNER.”  And just so that the “WINNER”  knew that he was the “WINNER” – the  “WINNER” would get to take home with him the new game of  “SCHNUCKS MONOPOLY!”

“HOW’s  that  for being the BIG “WINNER!”
